On a pleasant Saturday this summer, Eric Holder, his daughters, their boyfriends and two security officers boarded a government-owned Gulfstream and jetted off to New York for the Belmont Stakes Thoroughbred horse race.
Even for personal trips like this, the attorney general doesnt fly commercial. For security reasons, Holder like other top government officials flies a government plane, though is required to reimburse taxpayers for airfare.
According to records obtained by The Daily Caller through a Freedom of Information Act request, Holder is getting pretty good deal here especially when he flies a government-owned Gulfstream V jet.
That one day trip to Elmont, N.Y. on June 7, according to records provided to TheDC by the Department of Justice, ended up costing the government $14,440.

BTTT
Our rulers deserve our best. By deserve I man take.
Reparations, yo.
I guarantee that’s how he sees it.
Not really. A whore offers a valuable service for a fee. A thief is worse.
You are right and I stand corrected.
“costing the government $14,440.”
$14,000 for a family weekend trip to the races.
Are we being ruled by kings?
What is worse, a robber or a thief?
"A gazlan (robber) shows that he fears no one, neither God nor man, because he acts in public where not only God, but even man can see. A ganav (thief)), however, shows that he fears only man, but not God, because he attempts to hide his actions. It is as if he holds man in higher esteem than God.
It would appear we a racing a bunch of Godless thieves.
Once again I’m reminded of Ross Perot saying politicians should fly coach and eat lousy food like the rest of us. And park in long term parking.
“Not really. A whore offers a valuable service for a fee. A thief is worse.”
The whore does offer a service, valuable is what the payer is wiling to spend.. What should have been included was “immoral” in the sentence. Just a thought.
<>Are we being ruled by kings?<>
It is far worse. What we have is growing despotism. The corruption of our republic is so palpable, the level of popular disgust with our rulers requires elaborate security for increasing numbers of unaccountable criminals.
Elections alone cannot cure what ails our beloved United States.
Out of the ashes the Phoenix shall rise.
We are doomed. Human nature is what it has always been, nothing is new under the sun.
The seven deadly sins are too enticing and the pious life too boring.
Now where did I put my double bacon cheeseburger and large fries?
My mistress hid it.
Congress is responsible for this. They passed the regulations that high ranking officials cannot fly commercial. So Holder is following the rules. I can’t stand him but this is just stupid complaining. Change the rules and regulations Congress. I am not talking about the current Congress but the Congress who passed the regulations.
Our ‘elite’ are transported even better than British Royalty. Ha-rumph! And, if you’re a plain old government burk and not in the Royal Family—you fly commercial, mate! ;)
