"... In Clausewitzian terms, war's center of gravity has moved from the battlefield to public relations."
Seriously, how can Israel deal with that. I mean, snark aside, how DOES one deal with that?
Is our only hope an independent Internet?
I’ve missed Pipes. Excellent article.

"Mr. President, we cannot allow a Mine Shaft Gap!"
Israel has to come to terms with the fact that its support in the West is declining. Changing demographics, a woeful ignorance of history in general and the Holocaust in particular are just some of the reasons. Overt antisemitism is on the rise. While Israel won this necessary battle since the assault tunnels have been destroyed and the rockets are no longer falling, the strategic situation has not improved. Nearly 2 million hostile Palestinians still live in adjacent Gaza. Also the photographs of destruction and deaths has brought worldwide sympathy to the Palestinians and criticism to Israel even as missiles were being fired at it. The Israelis would be fools if they allow Hamas to rule. They will rearm. The missiles will become more sophisticated and stealthy. Israel has paid a very heavy price for the historically atypical restraint and tolerance it has shown over the last sixty five years. Caesar did not establish hostile adjacent militarized Gallic enclaves after he conquered Gaul. within a generation the country was Romanized. When Rome fell there were no internal revolts in Gaul, Spain or Britain.
Unfortunately the majority are non-rational thinkers; leftist anti-semites who are complicit in the attempt to destroy Western Civilization.
They can envision nothing outside of their fantasy of the downfall of Judeo-Chistendom and fail to see their demise at the hands of their barbarian "heroes".
If this is true for Israel, then it is the failure of the Israelis. Change the political outlook, ignore the biased media, propagandize, but in all things be decisive and swift. War has no Center of Gravity (COG), countries do. If yours sucks, then you have to change it.

Israel cannot deal with that, and neither can we.
Fight to win, or lose. Those are the rules.
I would argue that the center of gravity statement is a rehash of his older work.
The statement is not true until the IDF decides the cleanup of Hamas threats is completed. Once the military operations in Gaza are complete, the CG shifts to PR.
