Another viewpoint: It was nice of the government to place all that useful hardware in local places so the patriots can commandeer it easily when the time comes to purge the country of the tyrants and their minions.

Interesting. My local news is reporting on this right now in Columbus OH. The sheriff of a local county just said that militarized equipment and armored vehicles were offered to them, virtually free, by the Department of Defense. They took them and with hardly any cost to the county. Why in the hell is the federal government supplying locals with this type of equipment?

Just this evening I came upon, in the opposite lane, what looked like a very minor fender bender. The two civilian vehicles that had been involved in the incident were surrounded by county squad cars, blue lights flashing, and officers all over the place dressed as if they were about to take a spacewalk.
I kept driving, but felt very intimidated by the scene.
