There is a good chance the cops are carrying full auto weapons.
I’m sure SWAT officers have select-fire stuff at their disposal, but at least locally here in CT, beat cops MIGHT have a semi-auto AR in the trunk, depending on the agency. I have never see a CT cop with the front mount gun rack between the seats.
