Racial Politics: We didn't think today's civil-rights leaders could lose more credibility after they covered up the facts in the Trayvon Martin case. But then along came Michael Brown.
In both shooting incidents, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, NAACP officials and others in the civil-rights movement-turned-grievance industry rushed to judge them as "walking-while-black" executions by racist whites, when in fact they were nothing of the kind.
Martin and Brown weren't targeted because of skin color. Nor were they the innocent martyrs they were made out to be, as tragic as their deaths were.
Like Martin, Brown seems to have been the aggressor in the tragic confrontation. And like Martin, he was no angel. Brown was stopped by police because he was the prime suspect in a "strong-arm robbery" at a nearby convenience store in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson.
These civil-rights leaders took the testimony of street thugs over the word of local police about what really happened. Now they have egg on their faces.
One of the thugs turns out to have been Brown's accomplice in the robbery, Dorian Johnson, who is now lawyered up and copping to the crime.
For days, Johnson was the "key eyewitness" stoking the flames of racial tension and helping spark days of looting and rioting by claiming a white cop shot his friend "Big Mike" in "cold blood."
"We wasn't committing any crime, bringing no harm to nobody, but my friend was murdered in cold blood," as he spun it to a national media eager to believe the worst about white cops and race relations in America.
Added the 22-year-old Johnson, "We were just walking, minding our own business." Yes, walking with your stolen loot from the Quick Trip.

JESSE: It’s not the color of your skin ... It’s the content of your culture.
I have been trying to keep track of the details of this case from the beginning, to make sure we have the truth.
It is an almost impossible task.
Per the last line of the excerpt, it says they robbed the QT. It was not a QT they stole the blunts from. It was a LIQUOR STORE. The video everyone should have seen today does not show the inside of a QT.
What the POLICE REPORT says is that after the robbery, the victim said the perps walked off in the direction of the QT. The officer that got the call then went to the QT and searched but didn’t find them there.
Just want to warn everyone that even the best intentioned sources can have their facts wrong.
Thought about using fear as a motivator too.
Their deaths were not tragedies!!!!!! I am so sick of hearing and reading that! Even beside the point that I could never find it “tragic” for a thug to get what’s coming to him, tragedies are things which happen to people because of Providence/fate/whatever, not their own direct actions!
Pic of Jesse setting up Martin for the head shot?
Jesse and friends yelling for James Earl Ray to run away?
It has nothing to do with the actual event like this one. Most of the time the accused are found innocent and rightfully so.
It is their own frustration with the “system” for being "unfair." And who pushes the idea of unfairness? The likes of Jackson and Sharpton who thrive in the environment of racial hatred that they help to create.
Exactly. They believe that trying to be self-reliant is “acting white.”
Very very true sentiment. They just know how to pull their strings and have them reliant upon those government freebies/ no work involved because it’s owed to them versus a man’s / woman’s self worth.
Oh there is so much racism in the black communities. No doubt about it.
Trying to provide for your family and make a better life for yourself is “acting white.” How utterly stupid.
But this explains why so many blacks are poor and will continue to be poor.
As Booker T. Washington said, “They do not want the patient to get well.”
Part of the reason Johnson wasn’t refuted earlier is that the Justice Department was leaning on the cops not to release the video. Guess Holder didn’t want the truth getting in the way of his race baiting.
Its the content of your culture.
Its the content of your culture.
You're right - not tragic. Sad for the families involved maybe but definitely NOT tragic.
Tragic is what happened to the people who lost their businesses and property because out-of-control young black men (who are anti-government in the truest sense of the word) rioted and destroyed what did NOT belong to them.
Why hasn’t Dorian Johnson been arrested for the robbery. He should, in fact, be charged with felony murder. At the time of the assault of the officer that resulted in the thug’s death they were fleeing the scene of the robbery
