She should have but what is at the crux of this matter, aside from Perry's presidential aspirations, is that Perry, as governor, would have appointed her replacement. That is too much for the Austin bolsheviks to stomach so Lehmberg dug in to keep the Travis DA job in 'Rat hands.

Watch the entire arrest video. It’s great. She repeats over and over “you’re going to ruin my political carreer.” All she cares about is her political carreer. And if you look at comments on the videos there are liberal defenders. And as usual being arrested, a criminal (even manslaughter in the case of Kennedy) is a resume enhancer in liberal circles.
