Of course they are lies! But, they have evolved into myths! What do I mean? Often lies evolve into myth status. Before one can expose a lie that has become a “common” belief (I.e. All republicans are rich old white men), you must demonstrate that it is a myth, rather than the truth. He’s building the case that all of these false beliefs or myths are perpetuated by deliberate liars.
Once you demonstrate that a belief is a myth, then you can begin to establish the source of the myth, then the motive for spreading the myth can be identified as well - once one understands that the belief is a myth, then it is possible to prove that those who continue to perpetuate the myth have become “knowing” liars. That’s what Rush was doing. He was not engaging in political correctness. As I said. He’s building the case that these “myths” are being perpetuated by deliberate liars.
