I’d like to know why someone who works to become a “journalist” decides not to report the truth.

To a journalist, the truth is what is fair and right. It has nothing to do with fact.

Id like to know why someone who works to become a journalist decides not to report the truth. The motivation to become a journalist is to promote your own importance. This implies, not telling the truth, but selling the idea that you, and all journalists, tell the public everything important. Why would you restrict yourself to the truth in that process? You know that everyone else in your profession will go along, as long as you do not compete on the basis that you are more factually reliable. Do that, and you put a target on your chest.
