A banged-up eye does not show up immediately. it takes at least a day for a black eye to show, and even a swelling takes at least an hour to show.
not completely true, at least in some cases, hit my eye a couple weeks ago moving furniture, hurt like a bitch and was black before i could get to the downstairs of my home...but im no doctor so idk
