At this rate cases appear to be increasing about 5% per day.
At this rate in 30 days we will grow from 2500 to over 10,000 cases. Formula = 2500*(1.05)^30Days
And in 90 days we will be at 202,000 cases!!!!
To test that formula, I went back to examine the growth from June to August and got a 2.6% per day increase. However looking at the chart, it’s clearly accelerating.
I also looked by country:
Guinea 3.1%/day
Libera 7.1%/day
Sierra Leone 3.3%/day
Nigeria 4%/day (Nigeria was calcualted differently, instead of using 8/15 to 8/17 I used 8/12 to 8/17. Nigeria would have been 0% if calculated just on the last two reports. But there is concern Nigeria is not reporting accurately.
