While the county that Jacksonville is in did go for Romney, it did so only by 15,000 votes, so I’d bet that the city itself went for Zero, and that the article that I was drawing on, which focused on cities rather than metropolitan areas, was accurate. Burbs tend to be more Republican than the cities they surround, and the countryside even more so.

Duval County *is* Jacksonville. Also, note that Clay County next door is the most conservative county in the entire country.
