The Hill: The rise of ‘Obama Inc.’

How’s this for a depressing passage:

“There’s just a lot more regulation going on,” Zelizer said. “There’s a lot of intersection between the economy and Washington.”

“There’s just a lot more regulation going on.” My liberal friends, “regulation” is the mother’s milk of the crony capitalist state, the “fascist light” state. Our system of “regulation” is in most regards now just a vehicle for rent seeking. Blindly defending regulations in 2014 because liberals are supposed to be for regulation, is to give power to a vested corporate oligarchy.

Am I saying that all regs are bad? No. Am I saying that people need to wake up because regulations are being gamed (and are nearly always gamed)? Yes. Am I saying that things are particularly bad right now? Yes. Am I saying that my big government friends should really think hard about why they like big government, why big government serves people in their view better than a smaller, more local, more sustainable government? Yes.

Please big government friends consider if the American people would be better off generally if there was a separation of business and state.

Because right now we are being jacked.

(From The Hill)

Members of the president’s brain trust have steadily moved outside the administration in recent years, capitalizing on their association with the Obama brand to launch careers as advisers, consultants and hired guns.

“You see people not only serving as representatives of a lobbying firm but taking these very high-profile corporate jobs. I think that is becoming more common,” said Julian Zelizer, a political historian at Princeton University. “Businesses understand that this is a great opportunity for them.”

Obama's obsessive non-stop fund raising among the smug/stupid Dummycrat elite is beginning to look sinister. The world smolders but the Dumobcrat ding-a-lings soldier on w/ fund-raising.

=========================================

REALITY CHECK Could this be a WH/Democrat Ponzi scheme in progress?

While they bash Wall Street publicly, leaders of the Democrats' mega-funder "The Democracy Alliance" have quietly recruited venture capitalists, bankers and hedge fund moguls -- along with union bosses and red-diaper trust fund babies -- to fund their takeover goals. ....$230,000 public school union dues go to the Democrats' "Democracy Alliance."

"The Democracy Alliance" does not itself raise and spend a great deal of money. Rather, being a partner in the Alliance requires one to contribute large amounts to other left-wing groups. The Alliance evaluates left-wing organizations on various criteria, and makes recommendations to its members as to where they should put their money. Currently, the Alliance lists 21 groups in its “Aligned Network”:

<><> America Votes, American Constitution Society, Black Civic Engagement Fund, Brennan Center, Catalyst, Center for American Progress, Center for Community Change, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Common Purpose Project, Fund for the Republic, Latino Engagement Fund, Media Matters for America, New Media Ventures, New Organizing Institute, Organizing For Action, Progressive Majority, Progress Now, State Engagement Initiative, State Voices, Women’s Equality Center and Youth Engagement Fund.<><>

The most interesting of the D/A documents that have come to light is the one that contains D/A’s “investment recommendations” for 2014. Not only does it list the recommended organizations, but it rates each organization in several categories, sets out the group’s budget for 2014, and shows how much of that budget should be contributed by the 100 members of the "Democracy Alliance." One category in which DA rates the organizations is “Collaboration,” as DA believes that all left-wing groups should coordinate their activities for maximum political impact.

Opportunistic pols like Harry Reid have denounced Charles and David Koch, and others, who contribute to conservative causes as “shadowy,” “secretive” people who dare infest politics with “dark money.”

In that context, it is worth noting that most of the groups to which the Alliance and its elite liberal members contribute are 501(c)(4)s that do not disclose their donors.

===============================================

ANALYSIS Buncha sap-happy Dummy/dopes are feeding the Democrats' Democracy Alliance lotsa money---thinking its safe.....going to a "good thing."

That's exactly how Madoff operated. Money-laundering, tax evasion was part of the Madoff mix---helping investors, foundations, and tax-exempts break the law in a seemingly legal way.

=====================================================

Madoff helped himself to the untraceable money in the process.....and got himself in trouble. When he went to jail for 125 years, investigators found Ponzi King Madoff had stashed billions offshore---into a labyrinth of financial entities.

COLLUSION AND CONSPIRACIES GALORE Some $8.9 billion was funneled to Madoff through a dozen so-called feeder funds based in Europe, the Caribbean and Central America......a labyrinth of hedge funds, management companies and service providers that, to unsuspecting outsiders, seemed to compose a formidable system of checks and balances.

But the purpose of this complex financial architecture was just the opposite: the feeder funds provided different modes for directing money to Madoff in order to avoid scrutiny.

Dummycrats apparently took notes.

When a true conservative is elected president, and he eliminates all this government over-regulation, business will explode and the economy will grow like gangbusters. It is then that prosecution of the socialists will begin. And in hope they don’t waste their time putting them in jail.

That's what should have been done when the Clinton's left office.

Liberals preach “eat local” for better nutrition, but somehow are stupid enough to think that bureaucrats, who depend on grinding out ridiculous regs for their pay checks, will somehow govern better than those who live within 100 miles of the voters who keep them in office. That is totally inconsistent, a defining trait of Liberals.

On Day 1 of a conservative president’s first term, simply sign an Executive Order stating all previous EA’s enacted from the previous jug-eared POS’ administration are rescinded.

This reminds me of the book written about how hard it was to do business in Nazi Germany without constant political connections and bribes. The book is public domain, and is easily found on line: “The Vampire Economy.”

“Obama” is merely the brand. It is owned by Soros and friends, managed for them by Jarrett.

it’s the French way . . . Big Government, Big Labor, Big Corporations . . . destroy the small business and the entrepreneur through regulation . . . then only allow those graduates of one or two favored colleges get their foothold into the highest levels of government.

Voila!

American sclerosis . . . run for the benefit of the few.

The POTUS doesn’t eliminate regulation....congress does...he either approves or vetoes....

Far too much money is at stake to rid ourselves of the crony capitalist who run congress....

Nice idea... But it won’t happen at least not in a meaningful way...

You might want to so some research on “The Administrative State” and reconsider that statement.

I believe it is the case that Congress sets up these Agencies (e.g., IRS, EPA ) with goals and rules about how they will generate their own rules. Usually, they propose a rule, give time for comments, finalize the rule, and the rule becomes “law” unless both House and Senate vote to nullify it. With Harry Reid controlling the Senate, no legislation revoking a rule (e.g., CO2 regulated as a ‘pollutant’) is allowed.

Congress only passes an average of 85 laws per year; the Federal Register adds about 15,000 pages of “rules” per year. We are not living in either a Republic or a Democracy ... we are living in an unsupervised Administrative State.
