I would like to start the “tar and feather challenge” ...Tar and feather a liberal and run them out of town on a rail.

Is this going to end up as ubiquitous as the “pink” awareness ribbons.
Love Ya Rush, but sometimes It’s good to just lighten up. It’s a good thing to have some fun and not worry about how goofy you look doing it. There, I said it.
The ALS Foundation funds Embryonic Stem Cell Research. Of course, that means the killing of babies. Besides, ESCR has never produced ANY treatment for any disease.
I’m starting the ‘drink a can of beer’ to end PMS challenge.
My wife was “nominated” for this and accepted. I would not have. For one thing I WILL PICK MY OWN CHARITIES! But upon further questioning I was even more turned off.
1) It is to “raise awareness” in other words it is to increase fund raising not find a cure. If you jump through hoops you can donate to research only.
2) “This challenge has increased donations by....” Ok, so they can further fund raise? What have they done with these extra donations?
3) No mention of any progress towards a cure or treatment.
4) And finally, the use of pressure for “charity” has always turned me off. Reminds me of the United Way drives in the USAF; you would dare not say no....
Also I wonder what the take home will be this year for the top execs there. “Non profit” does not mean that the staff works for free, often they do quite well.
The whole ice bucket challenge thing is totally stupid and moronic. I will be extremely glad when it passes. And if I get challenged I will just tell them I gave at the office.
I mean what is the reasoning behind the bucket? My aunt just died from ALS last month. There is a lot more to ALS than shaking limbs.
It is a horrible disease.
