The trip comes less than a month after Brown visited Mexico City on a four-day trade mission. The governor has been prodding California's southern neighbor to take stronger action against climate change. He's also been seeking increased economic ties, including tourism and clean energy technology.

“However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy. Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Boston’s WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s.

In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedy’s blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960.
In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin.

After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFK’s legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, “I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies.” Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.”

Very interesting piece of history. Thanks for the post. I thought it was Ted Kennedy who opened up the floodgates with his increased quotas and lottery visas etc. Apparently it runs in the family.

It did run in the family, but it was JFK’s passionate dream to replace the American voter, and it worked, it was the end of America.

Why would you not ask fish if he voted for him first, instead of attacking him like some leftist babbling lumberhead, implying he voted and supported this person?

An ISIS would not hesitate to work on him, no matter what he wants.

The most evil family ever-—the Kennedys.

I have had this crowd in my life since 1947,since I was 15 years old.

They make sure no one can get too near their compound in Hyannisport, though. Elitist snobs.

This is what occurs when Hispanics now make up a crucial voting block. You sell your state and the nation down the Zambesi River.

“We” (I live in Oceanside) elected a mayor of LA who was totally incompetent, but he supported illegals.

The mayor of SF did nothing about sanctuary status after releasing an illegal from jail, subsequently the illegal killed three members of a family. The mayor is now Lt. Gov and will probably be the gov after Brown is through with us.

The city council in LA ignored and laughed during a presentation by the parents who’s son was killed by an illegal after being released from jail.

The battle is over in Cal and we lost. Sit back and enjoy the suck.

They were and are, true family trash, through generations, yet they are accomplished and glamorous royalty to the left.

And the CITIZENS of California (remember them?) are perfectly Ok with this?

Actually no, and that includes a large majority of Hispanics who followed the law coming to America. The problem is that the demonrats have a majority in office and more and more Hispanics are elected that have no desire but to place La Raza first.

This is sheer lunacy from liberals doing everything they can to drive industry out of the state and reduce the already weak tax base. When you have no jobs and no taxes to collect how do you support the welfare state you have invited?

Unreal. I know if I lived there I would be getting out as fast as I could as well. It’s what made me finally leave New York city and I grew up there. Every day on my way to work I would pass the welfare office and every day it was one huge long line of Mexicans, and then I would look at my paycheck getting absolutely obliterated with taxes: Federal tax, city tax, local tax, social security, and on top of that the city basically using the police as shakedown artists stealing my money. Parking my car then coming out the next morning finding my side view mirror broken laying in the street and a ticket in my windshield for “equipment violation: No side view mirror” and then getting another ticket the next day and the next and the next because I couldn’t afford the $450 to buy a replacement because it was electric.

Oh yeah then I bought a hand mirror and taped it to the side and I came out the next morning finding that laying in the street broken and yet another ticket in my windshield, and all these tickets were something like $150 each. It was the city sending cops out late at night to give out tickets to parked cars because the socialist programs were wiping the city out even though taxes were through the roof. They had an article in the NY Post a few years ago showing how illegals get fake IDs, then get food stamps then welfare and then send all that money and food home to Mexico, they keep none of it because they are working jobs that pay under the table. So basically what you got is people coming here, stealing OUR money and OUR jobs.

“You” was the general “you” who voted for him in Cali. This was not directed to any individual. Sorry for the misunderstanding that apparently resulted.

This has been happening in California for at least 40 years.

When we tried to stop it by passing Prop 187 we were fought by the open border lobby in both parties- including a Texas governor named George Bush.

Is it any wonder that Americans are losing their country? There is no way to stop it when politicians break the law.

This sign you posted is an embarrassment and 100% false to those capable of critical thought

This isn't too complex.

Employers by the thousands contribute to both parties, and in fact bankroll their campaigns etc. Dirt cheap labor is worth a fortune. These employers have no desire to see their low wage golden goose killed off and they'll pay big to make damn sure the borders remain lawless and wide open. It's why things like E-Verify are nothing but window dressing, voluntary not mandatory for employers. Look at your voting laws...Most are a joke designed to be compromised. And on and on and on...

There are many reasons why the Republican party has watched our borders and sovereignty totally deteriorate for 30++ years now. Even during war time, under Republican administrations.
