As the story of Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson's shooting of Michael Brown begins to look less clear-cut than we were led to believe by Brown's friend, Dorian Johnson, the "voices of oppression" on MSNBC now say the real issue is that there aren't enough blacks on the Ferguson police force.
As Brown may or may not have said seconds before his death: I give up.
If the Ferguson police are forced to hire more minorities and women for the sake of diversity, the one thing we can be sure of is that more black people will be murdered, raped and assaulted.
Someone's got to say it, so it might as well be me: I'm against more black people being murdered, raped and assaulted.
In a massive, detailed 2000 study of the effect of court-ordered affirmative action plans on police departments, economist John Lott found that the more minorities on a police force, the higher the rates of murder, manslaughter, violent crime, robbery and aggravated assault will be. Violent crime increased by a minimum of 3.3 percent every year after affirmative action policies went into effect -- and the spike in crime was highest in black neighborhoods.
The problem was not with black cops, Lott's study showed, but rather with the lowering of standards across the board, resulting in less-qualified officers of every race. To get more of MSNBC's "voices of oppression" on police forces, requirements are reduced for all recruits. (Just as quality declined at MSNBC when "voices of oppression" had to be added to their lineup.)

Is Ferguson deliberately turning away black applicants for the police department? If they are, they should be prosecuted. If not, we should ask why there aren’t more black cops on the force. Could it be because (1) blacks aren’t interested; and/or (2) you need a clean record to become a member; and/or (3) black applicants can’t pass the entrance tests?
I’ll take all three doors Monte.

First they threw out size requirements (cops used to be big so they didn’t have to depend on their gun), then intelligence requirements for written tests, and then strenght requirements to get females.
Evidently, 40 to 45 years of dropping standards, has not been enough yet.

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE FERGUSON RIOTS ?
All this inflamatory reporting of confrontations between black youths and authority is ruthlessly designed to keeping the black segment of Obama’s political support riled up so that any thought of instituting a richly deserved impeachment proceeding goes nowhere.
This regime and its supporters don’t give a damm if some poor black women or anyone else used all their resources to set up a business in those communities only to have it destroyed through blacks rioting resulting from what democrats created through their propaganda. Such blacks are viewed as eggs that must be broken to make their omlet.
That includes the whites,”hispanics” (note quotes) and asians. They are the other victims who have been maimed, assulted, and murdered by blacks citing those Florida manufactured episodes as their excuse for retribution.
This POTUS (president of the United States) signaled the clever direction to take through his use of “The Bully Pulpit”. And continues to rely on the constitutional office of The US Attorney General to conduct activities and investigations which promote division rather than supress it. Two examples of this used in the Florida case were Holder’s support of the Black Panther’s protest activity and the reward for the demise of the alledged murderer George Zimmerman of the “child”, Treyvon Martin. Which got a wink and a nod
With Ferguson beside sending in 40 DoJ prosecuters which remain to be seen what they come up with. (The Washington Post sent in 4 reporters to work over officer Wilson). Holder demanded witholding the devastating release of the video showing the “victim”was a 6 foot 4 inch 295 pound Michael Brown assulting a dimunitive asian store clerk, who was being portrayed as Brown a just turned 18 year old black”kid” innocently walking home to grandma’s house shot in the back by a white police officer, Wilson, just because Brown was black.
That video was released according to press reports by the police chief of Ferguson responding to FOIA (freedom of information act) requests. But had that video been released earlier there was a decent chance there might have not been 4 days of rioting looting, and destruction of property.
The POTUS has yet to acknowledge and decry those other results, of killings and assults by blacks of whites, “hispanics”, and asians, in retribution for what a “white” hispanic did to a black kid.. Let alone be urged to do so by “news” members of the democrat propaganda army known as the media. They have yet to suffer as their victims the same or any conseqences. They like him are being held unaccountable . It’s time both are. .
While the Florida thing was going on nobody noticed what came out of HHS and its resettlement/relocation policies as a means to handle the racial divide. If Obama had his druthers and could pull it off we’d be all living in urban centers taking a street car to work, store, and play living happily together in a utopian setting with our thermostats set at 67 degrees.
They and by they I’m mean that political party which is in name only called “democrat”. There is nothing “democratic” about them. While the riots were going on you had a democrat governor calling for a “vigorous prosecution of the white officer involved” and his black state police commander depicted flashing hand signs marching with the radicals . And the cops reportedly told, let them riot. As the local state democrat representative repeats the propaganda dished out by the regime.
Not recognizing why this “racial divide” is being perpetuated has nothing to do with such lofty counter arguments being offered by the political opposition on “equality” or “justice”. Those discussions are viewed with glee and laughed at by the democrats because it first of all lends credability to their lying assertions and diverts focus from the real reason why the those in power are using this political device known as division. It’s to keep them unquestioningly in power.
When was the last time a white cop got convicted of raping a black woman?
I remember a black cop raped a black woman in Milwaukee which I guess has more a quota friendly hiring policy than Ferguson.
As well, Ann didn’t mention the cultural obstacles for Black cops or Blacks interested in joining police force. The Black people HATE cops, Black or White, also, the “snitching” stigma is super high in the Black community, so a Black cop would be a de facto traitor from the get go.
9/10 of the “white racism” stories turn out to be hoaxes.
Seriously, another reason why black Ferguson PD officers were not proportionate to the population is money.
Money is always the answer. And a small town like Ferguson cannot pay what a competent officer can earn.
So imagine a black officer who already has Affirmative Action advantages over more qualified white cops. Would he go to work in a hell-hole like Ferguson when - by the color of his skin - he can get a better paying job in a better city or suburb?
Couple of things: A few years ago I was standing in line at a Starbucks and a couple of cops were there, one a female. I looked at her and the belt around her waist had a lot of equipment hooked onto it and was rather thick. To me, it looked like she would have a very difficult time bending over to cuff anyone.
Also, it's been some years; but, I seem to remember a survey taken and the results were that female cops are much more likely to grab their gun and shoot than male cops. I figured that they are probably smaller than the person they are chasing. A larger man can subdue the person, a woman or much smaller man cannot.
Problem really is, that the PC crowd has won, and the publics safety, and the cops safety is secondary to the PC standards and affirmative action bean counters.
Primarily, young black folks aren’t interested. Tell them the requirements and they are most definitely not interested.
It used to be that a GED was sufficient, now with the job market like it is, agencies can and will get college educated police officers.
A clean record is a must. You never really could nod and wink at that requirement but some agencies still do. I have heard, not substantiated, that one nearby agency will take their candidates right down to the warrant office prior to the academy to clear up any “mistakes” the candidate may have had.
In Missouri, a first class police academy is over 1000 hours of training. That’s before you ever get hired and start Field Training, which is typically 12 more weeks. In my class, we had two black candidates. One was set back for academics, the other graduated with honors. Unfortunately, he had a prior domestic issue in the service and would never get hired as a police officer. The academy did not check thoroughly enough. They kept his money though.
Whites in law enforcement benefit from generational policing, e.g., my father was a cop, etc. Blacks typically don’t.
