Seems that whining, moaning,and half hearted sanctions do not constitute effective policy. The bottom line has always been that the West would never go to war to enforce the internal borders of the former Soviet Union. When Russia finally decided to deploy its military as it did in Crimea,there was very little the West could or would do. It has become also clear to the Russians that business trumps politics and economics dictates policy. Lenin was right. The capitalists would sell them the rope which they would use to hang them.
