BBC ^ | 29 August 2014 | -

Posted on 08/29/2014 2:18:05 PM PDT by FreeReign

Ukraine's prime minister has said he will ask parliament to put the country on a path towards Nato membership.

Arseny Yatsenyuk said the government was sending a bill to MPs urging that Ukraine's non-bloc status be cancelled.

The remarks come as Nato holds an emergency meeting to discuss the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

The West has stepped up its accusations of direct Russian involvement in the conflict, following advances by pro-Russian rebels.

On Thursday Nato released satellite images it said showed Russian forces inside Ukraine. and said more than 1,000 troops were operating there.

This is directly asking for war. No way. You can’t enter NATO while you’re already being invaded. It doesn’t work like that. Can Iraq join NATO?

Where did i advise appeasement? Its a different story poking the bear though when a massive army is sitting on your border and no one practically wanting to help you. So get real.

If Ukraine wants to join NATO (if they are invited) and they don't because they are afraid of Putin, that would be appeasement.

That's what you are advising them.

There was a report about 2 injured Ukrainian officers exploding themselves with grenades, killing some Russian troopers in the process, in order to avoid being captured.

I do not think Ukrainians are the meek sort who let their lives be ruled by tyrants.

If you aren't rubbing yourself raw for a war with Russia, you're a Putin supporter. Childish I know but that seems to be the thinking.

I simply recognize the fact that we're on the verge of collapse ourselves and don't need any more welfare states. As far as I'm concerned, any pushback on Russia from us should be in our own hemisphere where Russia is making gains with no response. Pushback there should come from the EU.

Childish.

Exactly, and what i said was, no one is going to help them because the fact is, none of them want to take on Putin, they are all scared of him simple plain fact. Like it or lump it. Obama handed the role of leader of the world to Russia by being the biggest ditherer and wimp the US Presidency has produced.

No appeasement about it, Ukraine can fight all they like, The EU is not going to lift a damn finger to help them, totally dependent on russian energy. Its a new world out there, better get used to it.

Not directly but he will make damn sure it does not happen in Ukraine’s case.

Some people needs lessons in world views of how the Russians operate.

You saw what happened when Ukraine tried to do the whole EU thing............did they send armies or get involved...bot really, NATO will steer clear of this mess on its own.

Exactly and that isn't going to change till Obama is out of office. Its exactly what Obama wants and anyone thinking he will change is a fool. A smart and brave president would have headed this off by gaining Putin's respect but Obama has literally avoided being alone with him.

Correction! If you are a surrender-monkey Paultard who actively spreads anti-American and anti-Ukrainian propaganda and advises these people to sit in chains and lick the hand that feeds them, or constantly apologizes for Russian behavior or changes the topic, then you are a worthless pile of crap Putin supporter.

hero worship?, grow up, and stop acting like a kid,Putin is a first class bas$$$d but a clever one, you obviously do not wish to see the reality on the ground...who is going to help and protect the Ukranians? Who...

The EU has practically no army, sanctions from them are not going to cut it.....and they are dependent for energy from Russia and they back down like rabbits in headlights and doesn’t Russia know it.

Nato is no way at this point going to get involved. Not a chance.

The US? You have people saying here the US should not get involved and then in the next breath saying arm them, well that’s getting involved folks. Pick one or the other, its either get involved or don’t.

What exactly has the world done in the last few months.....in case you have not noticed,Sanctions, yeah they really worked, Russia is already in Ukraine, its soldiers are over the border and convoys going in daily.

The reality is The EU are not going to help, The US is not going to overtly help and eventually and most likely Ukraine will fall back under Russian influence.

That is not appeasement, that is reality.

What do you expect or wish is going to happen in Ukraine because all i hear is bull and no answers.

I agree, Russians want prosperity, and when that and their personal security becomes threatened, then Putin’s glamor wears off and Putin himself comes under threat.

Putin himself has amassed a vast fortune, and doubtfully has any desire to end in an ugly way.

Countries like ours are weak and have a tendency to pursue appeasement. The Russians and Chicoms have no such issues, since they both have a long traditional of brutal oriental despotism. They understand that power comes from the barrel of a gun, and both these countries are getting bored of just shooting their own people. Now they want variety, and openly speak of nuclear war within their own state controlled media, with the United States as the "bad guys" who will be turned into "radioactive ash."

We might not have a choice on whether the next world war starts.

This is what I am trying to explain..and that is why i have been saying, no one is going to help them because the EU has become liberal wimp out central that frankly is mired down in legal red tape to even start a war and Obama’s WH has about the military intelligence and might of a doormouse.

Russia would be in Kiev before the EU or The US could get all its reps and senators back from the holidays on the coast to even take a vote, no such problems in Russia or China of that nature, just a do it quick before they notice.

WWIII with who? The USSR and the Warsaw Pact of Bulgaria
Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania?

Have you looked at what Russia is left with and where their troops are now stationed, and how their massive forces of attack forces of many Airbornes divisions and bridge building units are gone?

WWIII, with who, and why would Putin want to destroy himself and his population of 140 million and his active military of 750,000, in a suicidal gesture?

Are you off your head in your gulping in of Putin’s cheap shirtless imagery?
