That's why a containment policy, an alliance of the Asian rim countries (Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, India) that together can meet China as an equal, is probably the best available situation in a post-American Asia. Of course, an even better solution would be American leadership in an Asian rim alliance, since otherwise the alliance would constantly be out of joint with the big three (Japan, Korea, India) all vying for top dog status, but that will have to wait for a President Cruz, Gohmert, or Palin.
