Yes, I know, of course. My question was somewhat rhetorical...
Still, they need to have a message to win. I simply cannot believe they don’t know that, so my next thought is they really don’t want to win, or at least it is more trouble than it is worth in their estimation.
The following items are probable causes, up for discussion:
1. Demonization from the Media. Remember Todd Akin and the “Pregnancy rarely induced by rape” statement, used extensively and constantly by dems and media (one in the same, I know) to “prove” there was a “Republican War on Women”? Sandra Fluke, George Stepanopolis on the GOP Debate 2012, et all... So the GOP is keeping their collective mouths shut because the full-court press by the dem/media coalition just bamboozles them every time, and they cannot win, so better to lie low.
2. The GOPe doesn’t really have a governance plan that much removed from the dems. Just a tad little more to the Right, but not much.
3. Winning means the TEA Party wins. Better to lose than let THAT happen!
4. The country is so screwed no one wants to be holding that potato when the music stops.
5. The electorate has simply reach enough mass to forever vote democrat—or at least the “gibmedats” have the majority. The Rubicon is crossed, the die is cast, the toilet’s been flushed, Elvis has left the building. Our Great Republic is toast. Idiocracy is here.
6. No one in the GOPe gives a rat’s ass.
7. The Almighty is ready for His Second Coming.
Personally, I’ve always held to #5 in the near term, #7 in the next ten years, hence my FReeper handle...
This is a great post.
