When Pharoah changed his mind and sent his army after the Jews, the army was destroyed in the Red(some say Reed) Sea.

I've always wondered how an English transliteration had anything to do with what was written. "Red' and "reed" sound similar, in English. I don't believe the Old Testament was originally recorded in that language.

In Hebrew it is rendered as the Sea of Reeds. “The 10 Commandments” was a lot of Hollywood hooey, as are many interpretations in any language other than the original.
