Once again we see bogus polls starting to correct themselves as the result nears hand.

I wonder if the Rotherham horror will influence the vote.
England is 5.0% mohammedan vs 1.4% for Scotland according to my googling.

A YES vote for independence is swell with me.
But I must admit to a lack of skin in the game ...

It is ironic that separatist movements are gaining traction in some part because these new smaller entities, like Scotland, which might be tender morsels for large aggressive countries now feel secure because of supernational organizations like NATO and because America stands as the policeman of the world. It is ironic because even as these votes are being cast, NATO is showing its weakness in protecting rim countries from Russia and America is hardly a reliable cop on the beat under Obama.
I suppose this is a function of globalization and we will see more and more of this. As one who certainly does not believe that diversity is our strength, I believe, strangely enough, in Woodrow Wilson's doctrine of self-determination of peoples. Therefore, if Crimea with majority Russian ethnicity is inclined to peel away from Ukraine by the means of free and fair elections, they should be free to go.
But then my ancestors lost a war, the Second American War of Independence, fighting for the same principle.
Oh, how the ironies prevail.

No it isnt that. The Yes campaign has the fire in its belly and Alex Salmond is a strong finisher. The gap is closing because they are winning the argument.

I would be sad to see the end of a glorious union of three centuries’ standing. But then again, I have ancestors on both sides of the border.

Scotland's independence movement is as foolish as Quebec's.
It's emotional. Scotland has the best of all possible worlds as part of the UK. I hope that, just as in Quebec, saner minds will prevail and vote this down.

Go for it Scotland!
I for one am tired of paying for your crushing welfare costs, and of having half the political representation per capita that you do.
Say yes Scotland. Say yes.

Sky News in particular were orgasmically OTT last night about it.
53% still means we NO’s win.
I still say the NO vote will be nearer to 60%.

Media just trying to make it interesting.
“No” will win by at least 20%.
