Distressing Details for the Democrats. A new poll shows exactly why Democrats should be worried.

Yesterday, a new George Washington University Battleground Poll was released, which showed that "Republicans hold a 4-point advantage on the generic congressional ballot."

While a Republican "tsunami" remains unlikely, many of the new numbers, reflecting the preferences of likely voters, suggest that the 2014 midterm environment is headed toward the historical norm. As Five Thirty-Eight's Nate Silver explained, "On average in midterm years since 1990, the generic ballot has favored the opposition party by 5 percentage points by Election Day."

Digging more deeply into the poll, a more distressing picture for Democrats emerges. Although they continue to maintain advantages among their base constituencies (women, minorities and young people), their margins of support have narrowed.

A 4 point advantage isn’t enough with this much time left..

Democrats will come up with some more false issues, lies and dirty tricks to divide us, gen up the hate, and win by fraud before the election.

A couple of points about the midterms:

1. The GOP was +63 House seats in 2010 and -7 in 2012. So there are not many competitive seats out there. So there will be no wave in the House.

2. The GOP was +5 Senate seats in 2010 and -2 in 2012. So there is more room for a wave election in the Senate, but the Senate depends on which states have elections.

3. The GOP up anything on the generic ballot is a big edge. The GOP wins the House when it is only moderately down in the generic ballot.

If Republicans held the senate, would they block a communist supreme court justice?

Didn’t think so.....

Not the whiz kid Nate Silver. Last cycle he had Obama all the way. Now he’s giving the Repub’s a 65% chance of taking the Senate.

If the Republicans were a football team all they would do is kick off and punt. But sometimes the crowd will cheer anyway. That’s the story of this coming election. They aren’t the Democrats, who have totally wrecked everything.

Yeah, as really bad as things are right now and with the Half-Breed at 37%, you’d think the GOP would be enjoying a ten point spread. But no, the GOPe “brand” is as sullied as the RAT’s, so it’s choosing between evils. The GOP may take the Senate back, but they will dick around with McConnell’s and Boner’s “leadership,” and when 2016 rolls around we will be back full chat in RAT City. It makes me want to puke!
