I'm illiterate when it comes to Twitter, but there is no year specified on a tweet. Just a month and day.

Brown's tweets quit in August; I assumed that was August 2014.

As I said, he was primarily retweeting then.

Earlier in the same year, he had been tweeting his own thoughts. Either that, or he went a calendar year without tweeting anything.
