My two favorite female comedians of all time (and top ten for either gender) are Joan Rivers and Carol Burnett. They both made me laugh until I cried. I also like Lucille Ball, but unlike Joan and Carol, Lucy's off-stage presence seemed a b!tc#y and diva-like, whereas Rivers and Burnett came off as sincere and “what you see it is what you get.” Does that make sense?

Pretenders to undeserved esteem

A great line. After six years in office, he deserves less esteem than when he started.

I've loved Joan Rivers' humor for decades, shed tears when she died. Irreplaceable, I fear.

Arbuckle was innocent, but his career was ruined. Today people who actually do things like Arbuckle was accused of are celebrated. Roman Polanski for example was an “artist”. Therefore, he was excused by the Hollyweird “elites” for raping a young girl. Picasso was a pig. He even thought he was exempt from normal morality. So I snicker when I hear stories about Hollywood “elites”.

Arbuckle was helped back into pictures by his good friend, Buster Keaton. He directed a few movies under the name Will B. Good - or so it is said!

Lucille Ball was rumored to be nice. I remember an evening at the old Museum of Broadcasting when Jay Leno told nice stories of befriending her.

No, but I did see “a Piece of Work” starring Joan, about her life.

I recommend it, she was a phenomenal human being.

Barbra’s “hero” Barack Hussein Obama also changed his name.

Poor Babs, she must be seething with envy about all the accolades that are pouring in about Joan Rivers, her generosity, her humanity, her caring for others, accolades that Barb will never receive.Like this for example...

She always seemed to me to be snarly on talk shows.

Well, she was tough. You don’t last in the business without being tough. That quality was there - but I always heard nice things about her personally.
