She was working the audience one night on the Johnny Carson show and really had them going; they were rolling in the aisles. Then suddenly she quipped "I'm so ugly that when I was born my mother took one look at me and demanded an abortion." Immediately the audience went dead, stony silent. The transition was amazing.
