As a law abiding citizen I will comply.
But as Panera has now announced itself to be a willing victim to those who don't abide by the law I will be taking my meal-time patronage elsewhere, as I do not wish to put myself unnecessarily in harm's way.
Buh bye, Panera.

all of this is saving me a lot of money. I’m pretty much down to Chick-fil-A and In-n-Out Burger

Glad I wasn’t too late to the party...glad of the results too.

Does this decision change your opinion on Panera?

Yes, for the better 13%
Yes, for the worse 82%
No 4%
Not sure 1%

But then I live in California - and the only ones allowed weapons are the politicians!!

You can be a law abiding citizen and carry in panera, especially concealed. This is a request and no KILL ZONE signs are going to be posted. In commierado we ccw folks can legally ignore the signs anyway at least until outed and asked to leave.
Was at national park today hiking and somewhat open carrying. Shirt was unbuttoned so wind would expose. Only nasty look was from an arab looking male and the arab looking female with him. Of course i had to secure it in locked car to enter visitors center but at least they have signs posted at every entrance.

I agree, there seems to be more crazy people and self proclaimed victims with a chip on their shoulder going around.

We eat at Sweet Sues when going between Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. There are lots of places where people went out of business and homeless then encamp around the empty places.

In general though, Panera goes for a slightly upper class customer. Cathedral has some wealth around there as well.

‘Bout right. I’ve never eaten there. Now, I won’t.

If you are familar with the area, Panera is across from Wal-Mart behind PS Airport, about a block from Dream Homes area. Not a high end area.

Don&SweetSue’s is a staple. Our church is a couple of blocks from there on Palm Drive (The Bridge)

What should Newtown, CT be classified as?

What should the Newtown shooter be classified as? Hint.

I grew up around the military, so seeing men carrying guns seems normal to me. I feel very fortunate for that.

If memory serves, when US Army Major Dr Nidal Hasan suddenly shouted Allahu Akbar! at Fort Hood, he enjoyed a firearm monopoly for approximately ten minutes, until he was shot and rendered a paraplegic by responding MPs.

Huh, I would think there are people with money that would go for them there or there would not be a chain store there.

Most unusual.

I like most of Cathedral City by the way.
We usually stay though at the Westin Rancho Mirage or at the Vice Roy in Palm Springs.

One of the best ways to combat this is to take a large group of folks to a Panera for a "meal" and at the last moment (be sure to do this in the presence of a manager) either react to a sign or have somebody suddenly remember and raise the issue to the group and say: "Hey, aren't these the guys stomping on our rights? Let's not give them our business, let's go someplace else!" Then leave and watch the $$$$ signs drain from management faces. Maybe go as a gun club. I'm tempted to take a bunch of NRA Instructors from my area and spend an evening just cruising from Panera to Panera all over the County.

Panera is just a lousy sandwich shop that charges three times what it should for microwaved “food”. They knew they had a hit with the Starbuck$ crowd.
