NATO is a defense pact. To wit: an attack on one is an attack on all. To the best of my knowledge, no NATO signatory has been attacked by ISIS/ISIL/IS.
Moreover there is strong evidence that ISIS/ISIL/IS has been equipped and perhaps even trained by two NATO member states: the USA and Turkey. Now you want the rest of NATO to spill blood to kill a monster created by these two NATO members?
You wonder why US allies are hesitating?
