Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke is being accused of swiping significant sections of her jobs plan from earlier propsals published by three Democratic candidates who ran for governor elsewhere.
BuzzFeed reported late Thursday that Burke's plan, called "Invest for Success," includes nearly verbatim passages from the economic development plans put forward by Delaware Gov. Jack Markell in 2008, Ward Cammack of Tennessee in 2009 and John Gregg of Indiana in 2012. Cammack withdrew from his race, and Gregg was defeated.
The Burke campaign blamed the plagiarized passages on a consultant, Eric Schnurer, who worked on the jobs plans for the other Democratic candidates. Schnurer is founder and president of Public Works, a Philadelphia-based consulting firm.
Burke spokesman Joe Zepecki said the campaign fired Schnurer Thursday evening. The sections in question, Zepecki said, represented "fewer than 10 paragraphs of a 49-page plan." He suggested that the main ideas in the proposal are Burke's alone.
"We terminated (Schnur) immediately after this was brought to our attention, prior to the inquiry from Buzzfeed," Zepecki said via email. "No member of the Burke for Wisconsin campaign staff or the candidate had ever seen the jobs plans of the candidates named in the story."
There are no payments to Schnurer or his company listed in Burke's campaign records.
Burke, is taking on GOP Gov. Scott Walker, released her jobs plan in March after coming under criticism from Republicans for taking months to put together her proposal. Walker officials could not be reached for comment early Friday.
The similarities between Burke's plan and those of other Democrats cited by BuzzFeed are remarkable.

Ultimately, they all copy from Karl Marx.
I'm hopeful that Walker will be able to expose her in their debates and define her in his ads. So far the campaigns have been relatively quiet, with Burke allowing the media to do the heavy lifting with deceptive hit pieces on Walker.
Blame someone else never accept responsibility - typical democrat modus operandi. Must be the playbook is getting worn and tattered
Mary Burke accused of plagiarism? Say it isn’t so...
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
I certainly question why a 49 page plan is needed for jobs when a thriving economy, and private enterprise are all that is needed, and history is proof positive.
You know, pithy is actually hard to do. Pithy requires brevity, of course. But it also calls for a succinct and most of all, correct assessment or analysis.
That was atomic fusion-level pith, my FRiend.
Another Delaware Democrat was involved in a plagiarism scheme while running for president. Can you name him?
I doubt Burke ever had an original thought in her life. Everything has been handed to her in life thanks to her father. Much of her life has been spent gallivanting around the world enjoying the good life. She is just a puppet of the Dem elite. They’re pulling her strings.
Which is pretty much the case with any elected RAT.
THIS......”Mary Burke is a female 2008 Barack Obama at the state level. She is an empty vessel, devoid of experience, skills, plans and ideas.” is dead on. She won’t speak up on Act 10 and won’t articulate any ideas. I think she might not be that smart, but just a member of the lucky sperm club.
