Chasing moderates is a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. It costs ten times as much to motivate a “moderate” as it costs to motivate a true believer. “Moderates” are, by definition, people who have no convictions, do not care, do not think.

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with your last statement... Look no further than Mitt Romney, who won the independent vote by a wide margin in the 2012 presidential election and still lost the race.

Nonetheless, I see your overall point. By recklessly and repeatedly pissing on (and in turn pissing off) its conservative base, the GOP seems to be doing everything it possibly can to screw up the most favorable conditions it may ever have to retake the Senate. Given Obama’s record low approval ratings, the number of very winnable Senate seats up for grabs in Republican-friendly states, and the fact this is an off-year election during a second presidential term which normally greatly benefits the party out of power, the GOP *SHOULD* be in a prime position to win 10-12 Senate seats! Yet for some insane reason the Republican party steadfastly refuses to act like an opposition party and present an agenda of popular conservative ideas that voters can get behind to counteract Obama and the Dems’ reckless destruction of this country!

It’s frickin’ unbelievable!

Conservatives have been complaining about not being invited to the table since before Goldwater. Start your own party or STFU. Bunch of little teen drama queens.

I recommend the Roman practice of decimation for GOP political consultants.

Decimation only kills one of every ten.

We have less than one of every ten politicians who deserve another day on this planet.

I’m 90% there with you. Not sure how to reliably identify Leftists for deportation/execution, but that’s a detail. My question is, are you going far enough with the elimination of the 14th Amendment? Because there’s a whole structure of Fed legislation built on that crumbling edifice, and to my mind there’s no point in getting rid of the 14th if you don’t also get rid of all its hideous children.

This is an election about Obama, Reid, Obama Care and big government dominating our lives. Or at least, it should be.

Scandal-ridden Mark Sanford won election to a Congressional seat solely on the basis of his campaign theme that he was running against SanFranNan (a cardboard cut-out no less!)

... if it was me; I'd have used a picture from a FR photoshop expert ...

But according to the gope he was the only “electable” candidate we had. He ran like he had both hands tied behind his back and this was the best the consultants and gope could come up with???

With a post like that, why do you claim to be a conservative yourself?

Hmm, I thought I covered that in the economics section. If not, then get rid of all of that legislation/judicial activism. Maybe we should establish Lochner v. New York as the law of the land, but perhaps add a stipulation that the federal government may not assist in the right to contract even if both sides wish for the government's involvement, unless the issue is relevant to national security.

Not sure how to reliably identify Leftists for deportation/execution, but that’s a detail.

I know a lot of conservatives who live in Blue areas will register Democrat so they can vote for the least awful candidate, so using party registration may not be feasible. I'd say that anyone who donates money or votes for the liberal candidate in a general or primary election, anyone who is a member of a liberal organization (i.e. ACLU, AFL-CIO), anyone who is a union member in a right-to-work state, anyone who attends a liberal protest group, and anyone who votes for the liberal outcome on ballot initiatives should be eligible for execution/deportation. I would favor execution unless deportation was drastically cheaper, and in either case I would favor seizing all the property of the Leftists to help pay off the national debt.

I also forgot to mention that any candidate should mention building a border fence with landmines and other security measures on the Mexican border, and should also mention building a similar fence on the Canadian border to keep some of the radical elements of that country out of ours.

exactly

being non-committal and squishy is supposed to attract "moderate" votes?

Has that ever worked?

Being anti-conservative surely isn't going to bring out the base.

“Being anti-conservative surely isn’t going to bring out the base.”

I’m an activist conservative Republican and I can barely get up the motivation to go vote for a Senate candidate who was my last choice in the primary. So how can we expect independents to show up

Which parts do you disagree with, and why? The post is about principles, so I’m sure the logistical elements can be refined somewhere down the road.

Claiming that people who vote a certain way or belong to a union should be executed is kook talk and makes this site look bad.

If someone votes to deny the average American their God-given freedoms, it is not unreasonable to attempt to eliminate the possibility of our freedoms being taken away. It's not like my views are completely unprecedented, either; McCarthy wanted to make sure Communists would never have the chance to oppress us, and as it turned out he was right. What if the German government had the Nazis killed prior to about 1932? What if France had the Hollande supporters killed? When liberals start trying to enslave or murder conservatives, will you be whistling the same tune? Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.

I tried to distinguish between people who willingly joined a union and those who were forced into one, which is why I referenced "right-to-work" states. Is there another law which punishes people who don't join a union? Do courts refuse to administer justice against unions who compel people to join behind-the-counter?

Liberals want Americans, conservatives, and Christians destroyed. Self defense is not always pleasurable.

Private unions are inherent in freedom of speech and association - just as an employer’s right to fire them should be. You can’t outlaw ideas. Sorry. If you could how long do you think this place would last?
