Never before have I felt so naked.
Now more than ever, I wish I was armed.
And I’m not alone.
Any and all home-grown Islamic terrorism should be able, if need be, to be met by a well-armed civilian militia. The United Kingdom has had two beheadings of members of the public in the last two years, with neither police nor civilians able to prevent it. It has prohibitive gun laws.
With news of the ISIS plot to randomly abduct members of the Australian public and behead them, Australian sentiment on guns is dramatically shifting.
It appears Australians are finally understanding the importance of gun ownership and craving it at a time when the world is increasingly unsafe.

Is Australia a democracy? If so, they should elect officials who will repeal the gun ban that previous elected officials passed into law.
Better start getting candidates to run that will change the gun laws back again, pronto. And never, ever let those SOB’s in the government, at any level, take your gun rights away, under any circumstances. Once done, you are at their mercy, criminals and terrorists, too. Basically a slave. Shame on you. Same for America, wake up, before it’s too late.
Better to have and not need.....

I got mine when a Somali gang killed a teenager at a nearby roller rink. It was a real comfort during the Sandy blackout.
Don’t forget: Elected officials have an inherent disincentive to support an armed electorate—for obvious reasons.
Anyone who was smart preserved their weapon off-site for this very eventuality.
Australia's semi-auto ban is often touted as a success by gun-banners here in the U.S. We're often told, "Australians love their guns and yet were willing to support common-sense bans on military-style assault rifles so why can't we?"
In truth, compliance in Australia was dismal. Officials conservatively estimated no less than 2.5 million firearms would fall under their ban. A mere 600,000 were turned in.
We CAN be as armed as we want, at least in most states. That's been true for a LONG time. Nothing new here and nothing to get hot and bothered about concerning guns and owning them.
My husband bought guns (with permits, of course) in northern California, where we lived for a bit, then brought them back to the Bay Area.
He carried ... and we were always well armed and that was some years ago.
He only needed his gun once (in northern California) and that was against this monster dog at the beach that his owner (a woman) couldn't control. He was going after our two sweet pound hounds.
He told the woman to control her dog or he would shoot him. She hurried him away, dog sort of controlled.
If he had had no gun she probably would have ignored him, people being people.
Side note: Dianne Feinstein ALWAYS packed. She said that she was "afraid" to go out at night without it. Stupid confession. Stupid woman.
