Here's the reason why: China--knowing their coal-fired power plants are seriously hurting the health of its citizens--desperately needs a far cleaner source of fuel for its electric generating plants. As such, they will buy massive amounts of natural gas from Russia so those coal-fired power plants can be phased out.
