I know of a student in 3rd grade whose parent will be reported to Child Protective Services today, because he’s come to school hungry two days in the last week (no dinner or breakfast), and has had an unfilled cavity for 3 weeks.

But mom comes to school conferences at 9:00 A.M. drunk as a skunk.

Mom can’t shift her lazy a$$ to get her kid to school in time for the free breakfast. So the kid’s starving and can’t learn because mom’s a welfare queen drunkard.

Memphis is a creepy place. Stopped on my way driving to and leaving the east coast to gas up. Every city has a vibe and you can usually instantly feel it. Memphis just feels bad.

Now, you drive a few hours down the way and stop in Knoxville and it just feels normal.
