Government Desperation Is Increasing

p>Government beneficence is mostly a myth based on the following assumptions:

  1. It is necessary.
  2. It is good.
  3. It makes outcomes better than they otherwise would be.

Point number one, the necessity of government, is true up to a point. There is arguably some limited set of functions that might better be performed jointly rather than separately. Extreme libertarians believe otherwise, suggesting there is virtually no role for government. Our Founders disagreed and provided for a quite limited role in the founding documents.

The second two conditions, at least given what our government does today, are increasingly disputed by those who look at government objectively. If these latter two become widely accepted as untrue, then the role of government will be reduced dramatically. Government will do anything it can to prevent its reduction. It is this risk which leads to government desperation. It will do whatever it can to protect its privilege and plunder.

Government Integrity: An Oxymoron

What does government do when it is failing? Why it lies, of course, just like a criminal enterprise. It lies about anything it believes it needs to and can get away with. When you have the media running interference for you and an opposition party too cowardly to blow the whistle, that means you can lie just about anything and get away with it.

Imagine all those Progressives thinking they might lose power....

But that part of the electorate that is psychotic and adolescent will save them by voting for them again, and again, and again...

IMHO

Article got off to a great start - then ground to a long drawn out confusing halt with all the talk about Khorosan. I mean, I guess that fits the authors template a little bit, but far better examples are everywhere.

Sorry, he lost me right out of the gate: “Extreme libertarians believe otherwise, suggesting there is virtually no role for government. Our Founders disagreed and provided for a quite limited role in the founding documents”

‘Virtually no role’ != ‘quite limited’???

I presume the ‘debate is settled’? We are now at war with Syria? Does Congress know about this? Not that I’ve heard how ANY ‘conflict’ we’ve been associate in has NOT been in our National Interests... /s

A Progressive who is really convinced that he may lose power is a very dangerous animal. They’ve pretty much proven that they are willing to do anything....and, I mean ANYTHING...to hang on to it.

That POS-SOB child of a thousand fathers Thad Cochran proves that correct!

What do rats do when they get desperate? Either jump ship, or bite viciously, depending on the circumstances.

The Democrats are only showing signs of desperation because unexpected events in 2014 have possibly become a perfect political storm against their Senate majority.

Three months ago, did anyone here at Free Republic foresee the ISIS group taking over swaths of Middle East territory, oil wells, bank vaults, and publicly beheading Americans on the Internet?

Did anyone foresee the Texas Border Invasion by Hispanic immigrants?

Did anyone foresee Obama publicly stating he would issue an Executive Amnesty after the election?

Did anyone foresee Ebola coming to the USA?

Before those events, the Democrats would have lost about 4 Senate seats and maintained a small majority.

Today, it's possible they can get badly beaten.

But, long term, they have nothing to worry about, and they know it.

In 2016, they will beat us easily in the presidential election, unless they nominate a radical.

And, in 2016, the states with Senate elections favor the Democrats, although they might not be able to regain a majority.

All they need to do is get their core voters to the polls.

Because of massive legal immigration, Democrats have gained 20 million new voters since the Reagan Amnesty in 1986.

In the next two years, another 1.5 million immigrants will become citizens, and 80% of them will vote for the Democrat Party.

Republicans have done nothing to stop our own political destruction, in fact, many Republicans have enthusiastically supported massive legal immigration.

Enjoy 2014, because the bill is coming due.

After the 2020 Census, after Congressional redistricting in 2022, the Democrats will take permanent control of the White House, the Senate, and the House.

And it is already too late to stop them.

“A Progresive who is really convinced that he may lose power is a very dangerous animal...”

The operant word is animal; vicious, rabid and hateful ones.

IMHO
