Bomb or Occupy -- or Neither?

Wars usually end only when the defeated aggressor believes it would be futile to resume the conflict. Lasting peace follows if the loser is then forced to change its political system into something other than what it was.

Republican Rome learned that bitter lesson through three conflicts with Carthage before ensuring that there was not going to be a fourth Punic War.

Germany fought three aggressive wars before it was finally defeated, occupied and reinvented.

America defeated Nazi Germany, fascist Italy and Imperial Japan, inflicting such damage that they were all unable to continue their resistance. And then, unlike its quick retreat home after World War I, America occupied -- and still has bases in -- all three.

This is a good article by VDH; it will upset some, though.

"If we cannot or will not solve the problem on the ground, end an enemy power, and then reconstitute its government, then it is probably better to steer clear altogether than to blow up lots of people and things -- and simply go home."

That's the problem I fear. America no longer has the stomach to see the solution through to it's end. Though I was somewhat encouraged that we signed an agreement with the new Afghani government to leave a force of 10,000 there after the pullout this year.

The ebb and flow of a moving ISOM (Islamic State Of Mind) is a hard country to bomb and impossible to occupy. Home grown ISA (Islamic State American) converts will be more lethal, destructive, disruptive, clever and horrific than their 1400 year old asymmetric jihadist originators.

Let’s think about occupy for a moment...

“Occupy Islamic State”?

Sounds like a chance to kill two birds with one stone.

Destroy and start over.
That is the only thing that ever works.
We did that with Germany and Japan. Look at them now.
If we had fought the Germans like we do Islam we would have lost there also.

Enough Americans have died in that shitehole of a “country” called Iraq and that was without Commander Latte McGolfclubs at the helm. I’m sure the blood of more Americans soaked into the sand, after being sent there by a lying hypocrite who vowed to bring the troops home, would be GREAT for us in 2016. But is that a price we want to pay?

Bomb them, bomb them again, then bomb them some more. When that fails to finish the job, bomb them, and then once more just for fun. After that, if the rubble looks at us funny, bomb it.

No more sacrificing our people, our resources or our efforts, ESPECIALLY for worshippers of death and pedophilia.

Take a page from Harry Truman: Nuke the f*****s and be done with it. Japan was an aggressive religious-fanatical society. Keyword “was”. When you start getting vaporized off the planet, the fanatism leaves one’s train of thought.

Just ask the Nips.

I think we’ve already blown our chance to bring about change in the Middle East, not to mention there’s currently not any politicians running for President willing to do that. And there’s also the fact that America’s been bombarded with the “Our opponents are no different than us” gas for too long to get behind something like that.

The bottom line is this. Until we get the guts to totally solve the problem and kill every last man woman and child taht has been infected with islam, this war will continue.

In the long run we can either kill or be killed. There are no other options.

RE: “Bomb them, bomb them again, then bomb them some more.”

Yeah, I’m in touch with MY inner General Curtis LeMay too, Impy.

No argument here.

No “LeMay” needed. One bomb and done.
