With the first US cases of Ebola being diagnosed in Dallas, Texas, you hypochondriacs may be panicked. Relax. Theres nothing to see here, nothing to worry about, authorities have everything handled.
Top officials at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital tell us the first unidentified patient is in isolation. The hospital is following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control to keep everybody, doctors, patients, staff, reporters, politicians, everybody, safe. Yes. They forgot to mention that the patient was first sent home after he told them he was from Liberia, ground zero. But, theres nothing to see here.
The CDC is on the job. They say 12 people have been tested for Ebola since the end of July. And we just have one case. Or maybe two. Or so. And even though there are only four high-tech special isolation units, in Nebraska and Atlanta, dont worry. If, by some fluke, others come down with Ebola, any old isolation unit at your local hospital will do just fine. Nothing to see here, folks.
Look. The highest risk is from: travelers from West Africa, where over 3,000 have died. Or from: bumping into people who have Ebola. Like the critically ill patient, or patients, in Texas. And, just in case another stray tourist with Ebola comes here, were prepared. Weve got the airports locked down. Right? We got the borders secured. Right?
And most of all, weve got Obama in charge. What can possibly go wrong? Right? Don't sweat it.
Rush just has to play SheJack’s presser yesterday about Eboler.
Rush is spot on. ROFL
I can’t wait for today’s show!
Parents are pulling their kids out of school, an unexpected social benefit of the ebola crisis.
Patients lie. This patient may have been symptomatic all the way from West Africa. And the sisters of patients lie. He's from a culture that lies to survive.
So, for right now, I'm betting nobody said "Liberia" the first time around. And malaria has symptoms similar to Ebola, and is much more common than Ebola. And is treatable with antibiotics.
Sometimes Rush can really frost me when he starts sounding like his brother lawyer, his father lawyer, and his grandfather lawyer.
It's not the fault of the Dallas hospital until somebody besides the AP proves that it is.
DEAR RUSH-- why was the patient in the US in the first place? Maybe he wanted to get the heck out of Liberia because he thought he might have Ebola. If he did that, he'd be ready to lie to authorities.
We need Democrats to sponsor a bill that penalizes parents for keeping their children out of public schools out of fear of Ebola.
On Wednesday, hospital officials admitted the man's travel information was not shared with all staff treating him....a family friend, identified the man as Thomas Eric Duncan....Duncan's nephew, Josephus Weeks, told NBC on Wednesday night that his uncle was not treated for Ebola until he personally called the federal Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta to report the suspected illness. He said he called the day Duncan returned to the Dallas hospital.
Now tell me again how this reflects badly on Rush?
There is probably a draft copy somewhere.
Yes, you shouldn’t sweat, you might spread your Ebola. Oh and if you get the urge to projectile hemorrhagic vomit, please do it into your elbow/sleeve rather than your hands.
I'll bet the screwels have already drafted statements threatening parents over keeping their kids home. After all, the gubmint says the epidemic is under control, no need to worry at all!
Meanwhile hotel and airline stocks are down, because it's obvious the gubmint is in complete disarray, and lying to us at every turn. Now we find out at least 80 people were exposed to this guy after he is known to become infectious, not the 18 previously reported.
There is projected to be a 100-times increase in the infected by January: from under 10,000 to over a million.
So if we’ve got them slipping through the cracks now, we can just imagine what’s coming.
Obamacare in action. Maybe the patient will be given a pain pill instead of more expensive treatment.
So let's blame the hospital. And the hospital is taking responsibility--but I know from experience that that doesn't mean the hospital did anything wrong.
I smell BS about this account, and blame-shifting. I know a little bit about how patients lie, especially patients from the third world, and these patients are about some serious blame=-shifting.
It seems to always work to blame the doctors. I wish every doctor at the Dallas hospital would promptly quit and leave the place for the administrators and the &*%$ blame-shifting lawyers.
Is it possible to use the Clinton solution and just,"Put some ice on it?"
What is being conveniently omitted from this story is the fact this guy knew he was in direct contact with someone who had Ebola but obviously did not tell the hospital staff. This guy should be arrested immediately. The news just reported his family is not wanting to comply with staying out of public and the CDC just had to issue a order to them. These people all need to be arrested and quarantined.
And there’s a ghetto of “undocumented” Liberians close to the hospital. Has anyone mentioned that there’s malaria there which was likely a red herring?
He cited a third hand AP account.
No, not so. Ebola is a virus, and is not treatable with antibiotics. Also, the first time this guy went to the hospital on the 26th, he specifically told the admitting people that he had just come from Liberia in West Africa. The admitting nurse did not pass that information on to doctors, he was given antibiotics (that do nothing) and sent home. Failure of the system all around.
