Alaska Senate nominee Dan Sullivan (R) is moving toward conquering the Last Frontier.
The Republican has surged to a lead against Sen. Mark Begich (D) in recent polls in the race thats likely to be critical to the balance of Senate power. Though the race is expected to remain close, some Democrats are worried that Begich is playing catch-up in a state where its tough to make up ground for their party.
[Begich] is up against a guy whos playing very smart poker, one Alaska Democrat and Begich ally told The Hill. My sense is Mark isnt having the best couple of weeks.
Sullivan a Marine reservist and former Alaska attorney general who served as Department of Natural Resources commissionerhas worked to coalesce the states fractured Republican Party ever since he won the mid-August primary.
Begich has remained mostly stagnant in the polls. While Democrats have hit the GOP nominee over residency issues and tried to paint him as too extreme on social issues, Sullivan and his deep-pocketed allies have been able to fire back.
Now, the Democratic incumbent seems to be scrambling to find new ways to knock Sullivan off his game after having to abandon planned attacks that backfired in a big way.
Begichs campaign promised to attack Sullivans record early on. But it was forced to pull down an ad accusing Sullivan of letting sex offenders get off with light sentences while he was attorney general, including one who is accused of murdering an elderly couple after that couples family demanded the ad be taken off the air.

It’s looking more promising in Alaska. Dan Sullivan is doing what he needs to do and it’s paying off.
And it will be good riddance to Begich who owes his seat to DemocRAT corruption and the bogus prosecution of Senator Stevens right before the 2008 election.
The GOP is surging in almost every race. I hope someone will show me the difference when they regain control of the Senate.
Has anyone heard from Ed Gillespie in VA? He is no where to be found.
Begich put on a suicide vest with that attack ad, especially when the victim’s family came out against it.
At this point, I can only see the following races as competitive
Iowa (D)
Michigan (D)
New Hampshire (D)
North Carolina (D)
Colorado (D)
Kansas (R)
The rest seemed to have moved into their respective columns, so while others matter and nothing should be taken for granted, 6 seats are truly in play.
Was doing better in the polls, but his debate was a series of dodges.
Just a reminder..there is no such thing as a good Democrat.....by any measure.
AMEN!! Democrats....ALL of THEM are EVIL and NO DECENT person would vote for any of them!!
MN may also be competitive.
Political speak for: We don't have the machine in place to cheat in Alaska - no inner city black corruption.
“...Sullivan a Marine reservist and former Alaska attorney general ...”
You can NEVER go wrong with a Marine on point!!!
OOORah!
LOL- amusing.
I love that scene!
I’ll go with a ninja on point. A hot female ninja...
Fever’s comin’ on.
The polls have closed to single digits there, so he must be doing something right?

Not even a dead one, cause they keep voting.....
Begich case the deciding vote for Obamacare, does one need any other reason to vote him out?
Female Ninjas have their place...
But when it absolutely MUST be destroyed overnight, you call a Marine...
