It was reported today that all the contaminated stuff (sheets/towels) is still in their apt.

CDC has not removed it.

On the Anderson Cooper interview, Louise who is Thomas Duncan’s girlfriend/ mother of his son said she was at work when her daughter called the ambulance. I wonder where Louise works.

I guess they felt that their “civil rights” were being violated.

Mixed feelings. Sneeze and they’ll tell whoever they want to stay home. Especially on election day.

Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 Family that hosted Ebola patient confined to home

"The house conditions need to be improved," he said.

A woman who lives in the apartment, Louise Troh, said she has been quarantined with her 13-year-old son and two nephews.

"Who wants to be locked up?" she said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Troh said she was waiting for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to collect a bag of the bed sheets and towels Thomas Eric Duncan used.

Visitors from the American Red Cross were seen Thursday bringing food to the apartment door. The North Texas Food Bank said it sent three days of cereal, tuna, produce and other supplies.

confined in an apartment which had not been cleaned of bio hazards? Yup, the CDC is right on top of things!

what assurances will we get that these biohazard items will ALL be accounted for so that none of it falls into the hands of parties with nefarious intent?

I know profanity is not allowed but we are at the point where the only possible comment is, what the F is with these people?

There is no one to actually protect America or the American people.

.....hired a cleaning service.

Who? Merry Maids. For crying out loud this must be done by a specialized service that are trained in Bio-Hazard material. You dont call out to the Merry Maids or a Juanita or Lupita to clean it up.

Can’t secure the border. Can’t secure the airports. Can’t secure one little second floor apartment. Time to throw in the towel and call it quits.

The game of Ebola Roulette continues...

*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin…BANG!

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

hired a cleaning service?!?!?!

I hope they are qualified to handle infectious diseases.

Ebola has a high mortality rate, and the afflicted die a horrible death.

The unusual confinement order was imposed after the family failed to comply with a request not to leave their apartment, according to Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.

So you people were exposed to your relative's Ebola, which included him vomiting on the sidewalk outside your home, and you're asked to stay home to allow monitoring and avoid spreading it to other people, and you keep leaving the house anyway???

YOU IDIOTS!

I expect the family members will start showing signs of infection over this weekend. And early next week, the triage person, who didn’t realize there is an epidemic in Liberia which is a country in Africa, will start showing signs of infection. Then the EMT persons. Then some hospital personnel. Etc. Hopefully, it will end there, but it never should have started here in the first place.
