I know you can buy Amos and Andy online, but it sure would be nice to see it on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, or RedBox.

As for the Little Rascals, I’m sure there are some of those that aren’t allowed either.

For that matter, the George Clooney movie “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” probably has a few scenes that could offend.

You know, I even like seeing the “Birth of the Nation” once in a while.

I say put it all out there. Let folks see it. Discuss it. If you show how blacks were supposedly treated terribly, it’s rather enlightening how they are treated today.

You see, this is the real problem. They can’t show the old dated stuff, because then it would be impossible to continue the big lie, that racism is still terribly rampant in this nation.

There are undoubtedly biases, but today they are mostly earned.

In days gone buy, they weren’t.

We live in a different world. We just have folks who wish to game the system.

Every Black person I've known would bust out in hysterical laughter at the mere mention of this show. Back in 1983 there was an excellent documentary made "Amos n Andy, Anatomy of a Controversy" narrated by George Kirby. In it Jesse Jackson surprisingly said he never really found anything wrong with it because it reminded him of some of the people he grew up around in Chicago, and that show opened doors for Bill Cosby, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. And not only Blacks. Jackie Gleason, in one of his last TV appearances said it was Amos n Andy that gave him the inspiration for the Honeymooners.
