First, the fascist element; statists always are looking toward justification for their control of the population. What a boon to take total control of the nation while an undiscriminating disease decimates the populace. Sure, lefties will go, but, as they like to say: “if you want an omelet you've got to break some eggs”. The elite and connected, of course, won't be subject because they will have the best care available.
Secondly, the environmentalists will be happy (even with death in their own ranks) because the deepest green among them long for parasitic humans to be wiped out. Read their literature to find out how truly whacked they really are.
Finally, all the rank and file useful idiots will be apoplectic about the ravages of a tidal wave of disease. Already shrouded in the nanny state apron, they'll scream, protest, throw bricks and be amplified by the press for more, more, more state control and the safety of a concrete box and alfalfa pellets in a vast federal rabbet warren someplace.
Personally, I'm not too excited about Ebola. When the neighbor starts bleeding from the eyes I guess I take it seriously. Even then, there is a better place than here . . .
No doubt about it. From back in 2006:
The speech Mims heard was delivered by Eric R. Pianka, a lizard expert from the University of Texas. It is recounted in detail in the latest issue of the Citizen Scientist.
War and famine would not do, he explained. Instead, disease offered the most efficient and fastest way to kill the billions that must soon die if the population crisis is to be solved. ... His favorite candidate for eliminating 90 percent of the worlds population is airborne Ebola, because it is both highly lethal and it kills in days, instead of years.
Mims notes that when Pianka finished his remarks, the audience of fellow scientists and students burst out in sustained applause.
What kind of reception have you received as you have presented these ideas to other audiences that are not representative of us? asked one member of the audience.
I speak to the converted! Pianka replied.
The thing I see happening is that it’s the conservatives, who take things seriously and don’t have entitlement mentality, who are more likely to survive.
I can see Ebola ripping through cities pretty quickly, decimating the inner city populations, which are by and large liberal.
