School divisions not jumping at expanded free lunch program

A new federal program that makes free breakfast and lunch available to all students, no questions asked, has been slow to catch on in Virginia.

Virginia first lady Dorothy McAuliffe has made wide acceptance of the program — known as the Community Eligibility Provision from the U.S. Department of Agriculture — a key component in her push to expand access to healthful foods to hungry Virginians.

“There are 300,000 food-insecure children in Virginia, a number nobody can be comfortable with,” she said. “As a mom, to think about a hungry baby, school child, teenager, it’s very, very painful. … Food is the basic necessity that children need to learn to grow to do all those other things in life.”

“Food Insecure Children”?! Because they’re ashamed of being hungry?

[“Food Insecure Children”? Because they’re ashamed of being hungry?]

Because they’re uneasy about the school’s food.

What they need is a Lunch Achievement program.

Make good grades and they to get the blue plate special and dessert. Make bad grades, they get the Mooshelle special and no dessert. Don’t show up for school, you don’t eat.

OK, I was just kidding...

“There are 300,000 food-insecure children in Virginia,

I'm sure in libtards parlance that means no Cheetos's to snack on...

I find it very hard to believe anybody in this country can go hungry even for a night, we have an abundance of federal, state, local programs available to help people who need food...

Whether or not they take advantage of the programs is another question due to mental illness or a addiction problem...

“food-insecure children”...? There is obviously no end to the causes the libtards can dream up.
Maintaining the impetus of the 100-year old march to socialism is the real plan these a$$clowns follow.

But losing the free lunch data, she said, could prove troubling.

Hah. the money quote

The schools are not participating because the program removes the benchmark ( free lunch data) for getting federal aid...

They are afraid their federal gravy train is going to get a little less plentiful...

I am overboard furious with all the bleating about Hungry Children in America.

The welfare collectors get food stamps based upon 3 meals a day, 365 a year, for every household member. Some of those ‘household members’ are used by more than family.

Then those same ‘low income kids’ get free meals at school....not only lunch- but in many schools, breakfast & even dinner. Schools in some areas are packing TAKE OUT dinner for kids!!!!

Then the ranting & guilt-tripping against the citizens who already pay for both of the above about how “I have to donate to the local food BANKS”-—plural. Just one isn’t enough!!!

That is 3 different sources for food for these kids.

The number of obese kids in the USA has risen dramatically in the past 20 years. No Phys Ed classes-—cannot play on their neighborhood streets because of the danger. No wonder these kids cannot outrun the criminals on their block!!! Of course—to tell the ‘po po’ who did the latest drive-by shooting or other criminal act would be ‘snitching’ so they keep the criminals in business & the cycle repeats & repeats.

The guilt trips don’t land on me any longer. The property taxes are another matter.

I never had any kids. I have owned 4 houses so far in my lifetime. I didn’t send a single kid to school. About 50% of all my property taxes were to support the schools. I sure would like to have that 50% returned to me. As an employer, I didn’t get a usable product when they were released from 12th grade, either. IF a Lemon Law were applicable to the USA public school system, the courts would not be able to handle anything else.

I have DONE ENOUGH. STFU about hungry kids’ in America.
