The state of Texas should just go ahead and ignore the ruling. If Obama can do, so can everybody else. I can of wish I was the governor of some state right now.

“To get around these political “judges”, how about instant photo ID? If they show up without valid ID, take their picture and fingerprints and make them swear under penalty of perjury and jail to their correct name and address.”

Good idea and make the Vote Fraud “crime” a felony so they can’t vote in the future. Unfortunately, the progressive judge overlords would likely veto this also.

Why are you trying to pick a fight with your fellow FReepers? That’s trollish behavior.

I'm not bothered at all if Jim reads any of my posts. But I do believe the best way to handle this is within the party. If conservatives stay home, how can any influence be exerted on the Republicans? Everyone agrees Boehner is an awful leader. Isn't the better policy to increase the pressure from within and squeeze Boehner so he resigns as Speaker? He's not going to lose his race in November, so if conservatives don't vote in November, won't conservatives lose influence?

I know Romney was not an ideal candidate and was under no illusion he was, but he would not have appointed the Federal judge that overturned the Texas ID law. Reagan said multiple times, that he is happy to get 70 to 80% of something and come back another day. With Romney, it would have been 30 or 40% of something. As distasteful as that is, that is how politics have worked for centuries.

Take abortion - it has been 40 years since the Court allowed abortion and only now after decades of trying are there some small constraints (requiring abortion providers to have hospital admitting privileges, clinics needing to have hospital standards, etc.) that are forcing some abortion clinics to close.

Politics is very long term and I wish people would see it from that perspective. Change often comes slowly and almost always have. It's not ideal.

Most candidates are not ideal and never will be. I have a short list of three people I would love to see be president, but I don't know if that will happen, but I can't choose the alternative, either.

The judge overlords have decided that they are Super Legislators exercising their Royal Prerogative.

Screw the GOP. The RINOs have destroyed it. Pro-life, pro-family, pro-borders, pro-gun, pro-constitution, pro-limited government or bust!!

There’s a difference between being less than ideal and being anathema.

I think because I have read so many threads the past few days of people being unhappy over the candidates and not going to vote or even voting for the dem. It seems counterproductive. Trust me, I understand the frustration. I haven't voted for anyone I have been truly happy with for a long time.

But the alternative is worse. Isn't getting something better than nothing? I'm not a big Romney fan, but he wouldn't have nominated the federal judge that overturned the Texas law. That is a little something - not much, but every little bit helps.

So many don't see the consequences of not voting or voting for the other side.

Ooooh.... those rascawy republicrats already lying about those eeevil conservatives who refuse to vote for more of the same...

Vote for Cochrane; vote for Rove; vote for another Romney clone! Rah Rah Rah—kiss my aahhs..

I’ll vote for whoever I choose, and say what I please. Putting party above principle is wrong and it loses every time.

The only difference between the RINOs and Democrats voting record is that the RINOs vote liberal only when it truly counts.

Voting for a RINO is worse than voting for a Democrat. Every close vote in recent history that has enabled the left has been passed by RINOs. If you vote for RINOs, you are rewarding the people who despise not only you, but all the values you represent.

The reason the GOPe feels entitled to your vote is because you are willing to sell it to the lowest bidder as long as they put an R beside the name. If you would quit rewarding them for pushing RINOs, they will stop.

Vote only for conservative GOP candidates. A RINO GOP congress will do NOTHING to slow Obamas’ course of destruction. And they will NEVER advance a conservative agenda.

Lets not fight fellas! Lets find out who this goon is and confront him directly. Don’t let these judicial punks hide behind their black robes. He has a face and he/she has a name and an office. Go there and let them express their contempt for you and your G-d to your face. Record it for all the world to see. There is a pattern that connects. Expose this evil and it will yield to the light of truth.
