Ansel, I’m sorry. As an old Navy Security guy, I learned a long time ago to ferret out bs from statements that are like, “You really don’t need to worry about this, as you don’t know anything about this.”
I have personal knowledge of great Airborne people. Starting with one of my dad’s first cousin, an Airborne trooper in WWII, who returned from Europe with a metal plate in his head and metal rods in his legs. One of my cousins who served as Air Born in Korea. Both of these guys were great soldiers and would not have been good care givers. In fact they would have been at peril in Africa in Ebola Obozo’s Africa Corps fighting Ebola.
This summer we lost a good friend, who was Airborne and served 3 tours in Nam and 25 years as a frontl ine Deputy sheriff in tough county. He was one hell of a soldier and would have been at peril in Africa in Ebola Obozo’s Africa Corps fighting Ebola.
During my 70 plus years I have met and known a lot of Air Borne guys, who were great soldiers and would have been losers in Ebola Obozo’s Africa Corps fighting Ebola.
I can seen Sea Bees and army engineers setting up the hospitals.

We’re going to get some our troops infected while we’re in Africa. A light infantry, air assault division is not designed to fight epidemic.
In fact, they’re trained in a chem/bio/nuke method that prefers AVOIDING contaminated areas and deals with contaminated areas only if placed in the middle of such an area by direct enemy action.
There is absolutely no training on intentional, proactive work within a chem/bio/nuke area. It’s all about surviving and getting the hell out of there.
I truly believe Obola has signed the death certificate of many of the finest air assault troops in the world.

I was Airborne myself, my step brother and I went through jump school separated by months, the 101st isn’t Airborne anymore and hasn’t been for many decades, and that has nothing to do with anything, anyway.
The 101st soldiers are going to be the Headquarters element
The 101st will supply 700 soldiers to what will be 3 to 4 thousand, they are half of the first 1400, (the other 700 being mostly engineers).
“About 300 of the troops from the 101st Airborne will come from the division headquarters, and they will serve as the Joint Force Command for the mission.”
“A 101st Airborne press release issued Tuesday evening stated the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Headquarters, Fort Campbell, will deploy as the Joint Force Command for Operation United Assistance in Monrovia, Liberia.
“Operation United Assistance is a critical mission,” said Maj. Gen. Gary J. Volesky, commander of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “We will coordinate all of the Department of Defense resources in Liberia to support USAID and the government of Liberia to contain the Ebola virus and ultimately save lives.”

The 101st isn’t Airborne, that ended during the Vietnam war, they are allowed to use the name as tradition.
