I don’t know.

I do know that the pressure builds up, then the man explodes in frustration, then the relationship is over. Once there was a blatant ‘put out or we’re done’ ultimatum. Twice, there was a engagement (with the diamond ring) and the man thought that the commitment to commit should be enough. (I do believe that this was the case in the first situation.)

The fact is that religious men are still MEN. Other than a bit more patience, I don’t see any difference between religious or secular men when it comes to premarital sex.

Worse, religious men seem to value purity in a woman... until it comes to *them*.

Yes, they are men, but for true believers in Christ, there is an enormous difference - one that SHOULD be perceptible.

As people are all born into sin after the fall, prior to true conversion to Christ, we find ourselves committing grave sins habitually. However, after true conversion to Christ, a Christian has the Holy Spirit dwelling within them, which helps them to overcome the human condition of being born into sin. And the Bible tells us that the true believer is "born again" of water and spirit, and the Holy Spirit dwells within the heart of the believer, just as in the Old Testament God dwelt amongst his people in the tabernacle and the temple.

I know this now, having actually studied enough Scripture to understand it. I also learned through study what God's Law Word says I can and can not do. It is a completely different world to me after my conversion, yes, I literally "put off" the "old man". I thought nothing of fornication prior to my conversion, not knowing that it was a grave sin (typical utterly faulty understanding of Scripture). Nowadays, I find the thought revolting. It's amazing to me, it's certainly not me that caused me to feel the way I feel. I can take zero credit for that, if it were up to me alone I'd be right back where I was.

i for one do not associate sex with any variant of purity or impurity.

i’m calling bs that most other men (whatever their religion— religion being irrelevant to character in the large) do.

i calculate the rate of a woman meeting a guy and the subject of virginity comes up at about once per week outside of an remote agrarian society, hermitage, nunnery, or international space station.

at that rate, a 26 year old female will have turned down over 500 guys (presuming she starts considering dating at 16).

(read the above twice before continuing. thanks)

unless she simply does not like sex with men, in my consideration, that is one messed up female.

therefore to me the overwhelming probability is that such a woman is not so much religious as she has unconsciously made some kind of lifestyle decision not to consider any man as a sexual partner.

of course, it could be possible that the woman had somehow missed meeting “mr. right” 500+ times in a row.

possible, yes. probable, no. implausible... i say yes.

for such women, it might be time to call a spade a spade, and get a cat, or a woman lover (whatever) and be done with it. but not time to write an article and project blame for one’s lifestyle choices on others... jesus, g*d, christian and/or non-christian men, other women, whoever.

for such women, just take responsibility for one’s own choices, and move on.
