When Holding An Orphaned Baby Can Mean Contracting Ebola

Anne Purfield and Michelle Dynes are epidemiologists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They spent the past several weeks responding to the Ebola epidemic in the Kenema district of Sierra Leone, and recently returned to Atlanta.

One of the many difficult aspects of working around the disease is not being able to comfort people who are grieving, Purfield and Dynes explain during a visit to StoryCorps in Atlanta. (Ebola is spread through contact with bodily fluids.)

"You can't touch anyone," says Purfield, 37. "You can't comfort them."

"Imagine losing 10 members of your family, and no one giving you a hug," replies Dynes, 39, a nurse epidemiologist.

One day, an Ebola-infected mother brought her baby into a hospital, Purfield recalls. The mother died, and the baby was left in a box.

"They tested the baby, and the baby was negative," says Purfield. "But I think the symptoms in babies and the disease progression in babies is different than adults.

“You can’t touch anyone” or you catch Ebola. Almost everyone who touched the baby died. The CDC says you have to be immersed in body fluid to catch Ebola. Does the virus mutate when it crosses the border into America or is the CDC lying?

The highly respected Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota just advised the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) that “there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles,” including exhaled breath - See more at: http://shtfschool.com/forums/topic/medical-research-org-cidrap-ebola-transmittable-by-air/#post-27026

all the phlebotomists died

I guess that’s why pres obola ordered the US military in to do blood testing in Liberia

surely “protocols” will protect them after all, the US military has the CDC to advise them

Dead to the left, dead to the right, into the valley of death Obola ordered the 3000.

Condolences to Tennyson for my paraphrase but this is what is going on here. WHEN is someone finally going to say enough. Right now the Pissadent is ordering his men to go on a suicide mission. Why does not one of those goof ball lap kissers of the 4 star rank tell him to shove it.

When are they going to stop African Ebola patients from flying into our country? In may not be PC but it has to be done. Apparently, it only takes one Ebole patient to shut down and bankrupt an entire hospital. WHO is projecting 10,000 new cases per week in Africa in 60 days. How is this going to work?

Unfortunately never. “They” should have done it last month at the latest but that would effect Barry’s balance of power in the Senate. By the time “they” (think of “they” as Barry in an ant costume from a 1950’s movie) know they should have done it, Barry will have his CDC stooge announce it is too late so we must prepare at home as best as we can. Barry will be off on another fund raiser for who knows what on his way to his protective bunker.

What will happen when one of the nurses, who gets Ebola, has a 3 month old child? How does that work. Is there CDC protocol for that?

Why would anyone think this virus would not spread to south and central america? Yet, no one in power will close our southern border.......

Another problem:

Can we expect ALL male ebola survivors from Africa to be honorable?

Since male ebola survivors are carriers for up to 80 days ...

Male Ebola survivors told: Use a condom [Reuters]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3212396/posts

Do male ebola survivors get VISAs? Are they even instructed to use condoms at US airports? With the power to spread ‘random’ ebola outbreaks via unprotected affairs, would you trust this policy with our nation’s daughters or should they have 80 day quarantines before given their ‘VISAs’? [aka illegal immigration passes]
