Texas Health workers receiving orders to stay home

Dozens of health care workers who had contact with the man who died of Ebola in Dallas were asked Thursday to sign legal documents in which they agreed to stay home, as authorities across the nation ramped up efforts to limit the virus' spread.

The documents ask the 75 health care workers who had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan to agree not to go to public places or use mass transit, according to Judge Clay Jenkins, top administrator for Dallas County. The agreements are binding legal documents that can be enforced with a variety of remedies, Jenkins said, though he repeatedly declined to elaborate about specific punishments when asked by reporters and expressed confidence that everyone would comply.

"From 21 days after their last exposure, we are agreeing that they are not going to go on any form of public conveyance - any sort of public transportation," Jenkins said. "We are agreeing that they won't go where people congregate - public spaces - and we are agreeing that they will self-monitor and allow us to monitor them twice a day."

The Dems running Dallas, instead of declaring a State of Emergency that could make Obama and the Dems look even worse, are trying to get these people to sign "Legally binding orders" that they will stay at home, and self-quarantine.

With this risk and they are asking for voluntary?

I read an article about a country in Africa that contained it. I believe it was Nigeria. Anyone viewed as being a possible source of transmission was moved to a camp. They were well cared for but isolated until they got the all clear.

I wonder if it’s the same thing that NBC’s “doctor” Nancy Snyderman had to sign.

I don't understand how the quarantine works -- of course, it could be entirely straightforward.

Say, I'm under quarantine -- I stay home, I watch a lot of TV, I read books. I never go out. For 21 days, 42 days, however long they say.

Does my employer still pay me? Does someone drop off groceries? Mail comes from my mailbox to my doorstep somehow? I pay bills -- and someone picks up the envelopes I just filled?? Does someone come and take away my trash?

Who is doing all of this stuff to help me? Where is money coming from to make this possible?

The news stories never have details -- it's like a magic wand: "You stay home and all of your little problems will be magically dealt with by elves."

Just for curiosity sake, I wonder if the documents are a form of contract. If so, what do the signers get in return? The article reads as though signing is voluntary. I’d refuse to sign. Doesn’t mean I’d refuse to quarantine myself, but why agree to the contingency of punishment?

The Dems running Dallas...

Not that I agree 100% with every stand of the JBS, but when the John Birch Society did have a strong presence in Dallas, things were a lot better. Fools like John Wiley Price and Clay Jenkins wouldn't have been tolerated by the JBS.

Good question, many Freepers are planning on doing just that. The Republicans candidates aren't pure enough to suit them so we are better off with Democrats in charge.

We have to close the borders now so we don’t infect the illegals.

I think for the people on the plane that they are now asking to isolate themselves for the next 21 days, the leaders of the CDC and WH should pay (out of their personal pockets) all the expenses of those families. Those idiots had the data before allowing the woman on the plane but failed to act appropriately.
