(White House Spokesman) Earnest: ‘Maybe Likely’ More Dallas Hospital Workers Will Get Ebola

While tempering concerns about preparedness for a possible Ebola outbreak in the United States, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest conceded Thursday that more cases are likely to come.

In a moment first spotted by RCP Video, NBC News correspondent Chris Jansing asked Earnest whether the White House, as part of its preparedness, has any projections on how many people might come down with the infectious disease stateside.

“I don’t know the answer to that,” Earnest replied. “Projections are less important because the risk of a widespread outbreak of Ebola in the United States is exceedingly low. We don’t anticipate that’s going to happen. What we do anticipate is certainly possible maybe even likely is that some additional cases of Ebola will occur.”

He continued: “It is possible, again, maybe even likely that there will be additional healthcare workers from this hospital in Dallas who treated Mr. Duncan who may contract — may have contracted the virus. So that’s why we are actively monitoring the health of other healthcare workers that came in contact with him.”

The stupid coming out of this White House is just absolutely stunning.

"We will make sure that we have the kind of response that’s needed" Yeah, that's worked GREAT so far, hasn't it?

“Maybe likely” because they blindly believed the CDC’s “protocol”

Meanwhile the family of the guy who lived in that crappy pukey apartment and bleached themselves silly remain healthy?

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and it is our duty.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senators name to contact them directly.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?

When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.

What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? You’ve seen the stock market these last few days.

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?

I will post this message and keep posting it for as long as I can in response to each Ebola posting that I see.

Anyone who still has any faith in the lefts competence and veracity is a complete fool.

They’re all just incompetent, irresponsible, lying rats.

Just ask the new Ebola Czar...he’ll know and have a deep understanding of the myriad medical issues.

Cause of death was once part of the public record.

Anyone could look it up and see what a person died of...

I'm not sure but I believe the laws were changed during the AIDS crisis. Which means that people who die of Ebola might fall below the radar...

SmokinJoe - do you know? Part of the public record or not?

It's odd that we only hear about 'health care workers who dealt with Duncan - but NOT about all the people those people interacted with.

Maybe someone from the Washington Post or LA Times could look into statistical anomalies in Dallas deaths...

FOX Sheppard Smith just on saying there’s absolutely no reason for anyone to be worried. But then he wouldn’t ever ride a bus. A cruise ship or plane, but never a bus.

‘get ebola’? Wouldn't they already have it, and more might show symptoms as the disease progresses?

I would hope, by this point, they've taken serious measures of containment and actually wash their hands so that more don't become infected.

Josh Earnest (probably chosen more for his name than his IQ) makes the lying snotty punk who preceded him look smooth.

I am not sure if it will be, other than perhaps a Federal Statistic. There is still waaay too much touchy-feely going on out there over someone feeling 'stigma' over having been in contact with someone who died of Ebola, and I am pretty sure the fact could be hidden behind HIPAA if nothing else.

I almost think they are using reverse psychology.. They tell us it is likely gonna be much worse, so that when it isnt everyone says.. “ohh that was not so bad”
