Be straight with the terminology.

Global warming is a real nature phenomena. It’s the anthropogenic part that is the fraud. So when you go around saying global warming is fake etc. you’re wrong. It’s just not happening now.

FWIW
I saw my first wooly bear caterpillar last week. It had a very wide central orange band. Weather folklore says this indicates a mild to normal winter.

Here in SW WI, we have had maybe 4 nights of 32. Nothing below, at least in my location (and I am in a low lying frost pocket). This is actually right in the normal range, although the first frost was actually a couple of weeks later than the *normal* September 21-23. No overnight frost predicted in the next ten days. It hasn’t been worth it to build a fire in the evening, as it is just too warm to get a proper draw. We put the gas furnace on, maybe, for an hour or so to chase the chill 1x-2x on the cloudy or wet days when the daytime high hovers around 50. Ditto the use of our propane space heater in the unheated upstairs in the evening. So far, it has been a comfortable Autumn. Summer was cool. Too cool for much use of the pool w/o expensive heating, but enjoyable for plain old living. Did not have the a/c on in the bedroom even one night all summer. Set it up in a room where we were doing some varnishing and then, never had to use it. Varnish dried just fine. Had to use a/c in the upstairs (converted attic) for a few hours in the late afternoon for maybe a week or so in June and August. Our electric bill was lower than last year. Finally paid off the Polar Vortex bill for propane from last winter and will be able to not have to buy propane for at least another month, since my supplier won’t fill until I am 20%-30% of a tank. We’re grateful.

After two frigid winters, we are due, in my 40 years of experience in this location, for either a *normal* or a *warmer* winter, depending on what is used as a base line.

Of course, this will bring out the AGW activists who are decrying *frack sand mining*, at the moment.
