The saddest part was the head of the CDC’s insistence that what was recommended was sufficient - it defied basic common sense!

How they were infected is a mystery officials saythere are two kinds of unknowns in this world, unknowns that probably won't kill you and unknowns that probably will kill you. Folks should probably consider that before making assumptions about Ebola, especially if there's a real possibility that you will have to stand in a room with it.

Revised guidance for health care workers treating Ebola patients will include using protective gear with no skin showing,
Realize that the workers who came down with Ebola were operating under protocols of gown, gloves, breathing mask, and a face shield...no head-covering or shoe covers, and bare necks. All one had to do was to brush ones’ hair from your face and then rub your eye, and boom, infection.

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

I checked the CDC web site, and I did not see the updated guidance-just an in process notation.
