“The snowplough driver blamed for the air crash which killed the chief executive of oil giant Total has denied being drunk at the wheel of his vehicle.”

An ‘air crash’ that involved a snowplow/driver obviously was the fault of the planes pilot for flying that low. Drunk or not, the snowplow driver shares no blame here.

Runway ground incursions are not the fault of a pilot. There are 2 places for blame, the ATC or the driver, and it is always a result of poor communication between those 2.

The FAA spends $ millions to eliminate theses issues and they happen at the busiest airports as well as the smaller community ones as well.

I was on an airport project where an old timer came out of the PX and made a wrong turn and ended up driving all over the field on the taxiways, which by the way have similar markings to a regular road way. The follow up after action report revealed that the taxiway he entered on was not properly marked and or separated/delineated from the auto parking area/roadways. Fortunately no one was injured.
