Winters in Pa. are usually not that drastic.

I was thinking more on what he'd be eating - Big game generally will be down in the lowlands (near towns, probably off limits to him), and small critters would generally be hibernating... Fish are all down in the lakes and big rivers... You can't get too far on dried berries and cattail root. Winter forage sucks.

Thank God for Al Gore...

LOL!

If you’re going to put large, brightly-colored letters on your back you don’t really understand the concept of “camouflage”.

This goes to how well he was prepared to be on the lam. If he had been preparing for months, then an arduous winter would not be a problem...If on the other hand he went ballistic on a Friday night and acted impulsively, then you would probably be correct...

[ “..just imagine what would be occurring in a SHTF or even CWII situation...”

They are imagining it. That’s why they’re hell-bent on getting him.

It’s giving them nightmares. ]

Indeed, as worthless as this cop killing scum is, one has to wonder if his sucess in evading capture is making some of the people in high up places re-evaluate their plants of total control...

I meant Plans... Damn spell check, but they no doubt have “Plants” in there to gain total control too....

I didn’t say it would be easy, but if you follow the protocol, it’s inevitable. The military has been doing this kind of thing for a long time, and there is a well-developed system that works, maybe the cops should ask them for advice?

Not really. The military hunts guys down in the wilderness routinely, who are also looking to kill them. They seem to have no problem accomplishing the goal.

How long did it take to find Saddam Hussein?

Different situation entirely, because they didn’t know the specific geographic area he was hiding in, and he wasn’t hiding in the wilderness.

Danny Horning evaded capture for two months by staying outside of where they were looking for him.

Eric Rudolph evaded capture for about five years.

Robert Fisher ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_William_Fisher ) has been on the run for over a decade.

“plans” are all fine and good.

They don’t often turn out as desired... especially when you have a good portion of the citizenry actively opposed.

Ever think this guy has had years to construct a well fortified and stocked underground shelter?

I think it more likely that he has a friend who smuggled him out of the area in the trunk of his car.

The military also can call in spooky and walk in artillery. There is no comparison.

Lol, you may be right - I’ve seen that movie. I haven’t kept up with this story but it reminded me of some books I’ve read too.

The military doesn’t hunt-down one individual in an indeterminate area; it clears/occupies an area by killing or a capturing everyone in the area who appears to be a combatant.

“I would hope that, in one of those situations, most LEO would be on our side.”

Most are on our side. The latest poll shows that 80%+ of cops and peace officers support the right to bear arms. What’s happening is the fact that FR is being swamped with stories of fascist SWAT in the big, liberal cities killing people and dogs.

I get the hostile reaction toward that and agree with the justified criticism.

What people don’t hear about is the pushback against these big city and federal fascists. Sheriffs across America are warning left wing fascists to butt out of their counties or suffer the consequences, which includes armed confrontations.

No, but it very well does do that in an determinate area!
